hospital on tuesday...and was suffering from numerous injuries and died a few hours later. 44-year-old etter hughes and 47-year- old mary martinez were arrested. according to the criminal complaint...doctors say the boy was malnourished..and that severe abuse and neglect led to his death. hughes also had a 9-year-old boy with her at the hospital. that child was also diagnosed with malnutrition and abuse. the children and hughes were staying matters worse, in 2003 hughes was convicted of beating a one-year-old to death in her home. she served 18 months. both women face decades in prison if convicted. after a prolonged start on thursday -- county clerk kathleen novack feels the waukesha recount is now on track. to keep things moving--the county is now using 16 machines. that's four more than what they started with. they are also hand-counting write in ballots. she says a

election night were seen by saturday but so far not enough to change waukesha's majority vote to the president elect. paul vercammen has the latest...as recovery efforts continue. more than a day after a deadly fire broke out at a warehouse in oakland, california, authorities continue searching for answers. the blaze reportedly broke out during an electronic dance party friday night. a party, city officials say, they had not issued a permit for. at least nine people were killed, and dozens are still missing. could be as high as 40. mos: "we tried to figure out where the smoke was coming from then we saw where the fire was. it was on the back left corner of the space and started yelling and tried to get everyone out." the majority of the fatalities were on the second floor. authorities say party goers would've had trouble getting out because the only stairway leading to the first floor was made of pallets. last month the warehouse property owners received notification of

in tennessee. some residents in gatlinburg now say they never received the order to evacuate. the order went out on monday night at 9 p.m. by then, the wildfire was out of control. officials confirm 13 have died...but some people are still missing. more than 80 people were injured. some residents say the message to leave never got to their cellphones...and wonder if there could have been mayor larry waters/ sevier county, tn mayor larry waters/ sevier county, tn : "the emergency folks will sit down and evaluate what went on and how it can be improved. you can always improve any system you have and we feel confident that we can do that, but we're going to have a complete evaluation of how the system worked and do whatever it takes to improve that system. but that's going to take some time." dericavomeanwhile -- residents are returning to discover the devastation left behind by the flames.

"i am very dependent on the nurse because if they dont provide the medication or she doesnt get medication to my

"this means relying on teachers and staff to dispense medication, treat injuries and handle emergencies." at the same time children are going to school with complex medical needs, like food allergies and asthma. so if your child needs medicatio make sure you give explicit instructions to the person in charge of dispensing your childs medication. and make sure to label it clearly. "for more serious conditions like asthma, diabetes or epilepsy ask your pediatrician to submit an action plan to the school that outlines the necessary steps." for example--when a student with asthma should use a rescue inhaler - when a student with diabetes should be given insulin - or what to do in case of seizure.

menominee is, so far, the only county to finish before the december 12th deadline. waukesha, on the other hand, is back on track after a slow start to their recount on thursday. fox6's angelica sanchez spoke with the clerk one- on- one about their race to the finish line. picking up the speed after a prolonged start on thursday. waukesha county clerk kathleen novack feels the recount is now on track. i believe everybody had asl thursday but it's picked up significantly yesterday and it's faster today. clerk novack says saturdays goal is to get through the townships and then move onto the cities. the recount will go until midnight and then pick up again 9am sunday. to keep things moving--the county is now using 16 machines. that's four more than what they started with. they are also hand-counting write in ballots. however a green party observer tells fox6 they're calling on the party's

devastating fire in oakland, california may have taken the lives of as many as 40 people. the fire broke out late firday night during a party at a two-story warehouse. at least 9 people are confirmed dead -- and around two dozen are unaccounted for. fire officials say most of the dead were found up on the second floor. officials say people on the second floor would've had trouble getting out, because the only stairway leading to the first floor was madef chief teresa deloach-reed / oakland fire dept. "the majority of the fatalities the victims were found on the second floor. it was a fast moving fire. i do know that nine people were not able to get out." fire crews have been working to clear wreckage -- and still could not access parts of the building. the city of oakland actually started investigating the warehouse nearly 3 weeks ago. they were looking into whether people were
