is justified. investigators say officer mensah was patrolling madison park after it had closed officer mensah approached jay anderson, who appeared to be sleeping in his car. the officer noticed a semi-automatic firearm on the passenger seat. after viewing the gun, the officer took out his firearm and ordered anderson to put his hands in the air. anderson, meanwhile, allegedly lowered his arm toward the gun at least three times. officer mensah then fired his gun, shooting anderson. " i have watched that video at least 20 times and i was able to w forwards backwards frame by frame, i could take as much time as i needed. the police officer had less than one second to make the decision" wauwatosa police chief barry weber says officer mensah underwent counseling and has been cleared to return to duty. as for anderson-- an autopsy shows he was intoxicated and also revealed marijuana in his system.

the family of jay anderson junior is extremely disappointed in the district attorney's decision not to charge officer joseph mensah. they say they'll continue to fight. the first happened about 3-20 this morning near 11th and wright. officials say it was a vacant home-- and no injuries were reported. the house did not have an operating smoke detector. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. another fire was reported on the northwest side. it happened about 4-20 this morning at a home near 83rd and a-cacia. officials say no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. the red cross was at the scene offering assistance. the cause of the investigation. marquette police are investigating an armed robbery near the campus. we're told a suspect entered the jimmy johns on wells last night and implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the register. the suspect then took off. the employee was not injured... and milwaukee police are helping with the investigation. dodge county officials are investigating a possible homicide in fox lake. they're calling it a suspicious death. we're told that deputies are

truck in connection with the case. neighbors believe a man may have shot and killed his girlfriend and then took off. police and deputies were called to the scene sunday night. a neighbor tells fox6 he thinks he heard the gunfire. i heard a pop and that was about five minutes, ten minutes before i left but i didn't think anything of it because of the hunting season around here. police say they are not releasing any further information on the case right now -- as it is an active and ongoing investigation. you're asked to give them a call. nearly a year later... police say they know who killed a good samaritan during a snow storm... but the killer is now dead. 43-year-old clifford morgan was shot and killed at a gas station at 8th and atkinson on december 28th. surveillance video from the night shows morgan inside talking to a clerk... then walking outside in the middle of a snow storm - where he was killed

police officer who shot and killed jay anderson has been cleared of wrongdoing. and, the dash cam video has been made public. our deandra corinthios has more from the wauwatosa police department. officer joseph mensah shot jay anderson six times...killing him. the wauwatosa police chief says the officer received mandatory counseling after the shooting and is cleared to return to work. he will not face charges this is the dashcam video. wer before shots are fired, but police chief barry weber says mensahs use of force is justified. the wauwatosa police department does not have body cameras. but the shooting was recorded because immediately after the shots were fired, officer mensah remotely activated the camera in his squad, which retroactively records 20 seconds prior to hitting the button. chief weber says mensah confronted jay anderson, who was asleep in his car

after the officer noticed a gun on the passenger seat it was a ruger 9 mm loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition and one in the chamber. mensah called for backup...anderson allegedly reached for the gun. 'on several occasions, the subject started to lower his right while leaning toward the front passenger seat where the gun was located, on each occasion the officer directed verbal commands to the subject instructing him to not reach for the weapon and keep his hands up.' chief weber says officer mensah has shooting took place. in wauwatosa dc fox 6 news the family of jay anderson

w 5-15 mph the latest now on the election recount. so far -- more than one million votes have been counted. only six counties have finished their tallies. the deadline is quickly approaching. we're now just six days must be recounted. but the wisconsin elections commission says all counties are on track to finish the work on time by the state deadline of december 12th. meanwhile -- in michigan - the recount expands today to the state's largest county -- which includes detroit. five other michigan counties will be recounting ballots today as well. also taking place today -- the state's appeals court will hear arguments on the president-elect's request to halt the recount.

veterans and their families. steve novak/bucks forward "we got to practice in front of the veterans and after wards they got to come down and kind of hang with us and it was great to meet them and some of their kids." it's all part of a continuing program by the bucks to give back to those who serve or have served in the armed forces. jason kidd/bucks head coach "to see them come down to say thank you for having us here just makes you feel good that you are doing something right.
