been achieved. fox6s bret lemoine is live outside the waukesha county courthouse with an update. waukesha county is now processing ballots cast in the city of waukesha... which is a big deal... because thats where a huge chunk of votes were cast on election day. its been a non-stop effort since the recount began 6 days ago. and as workers continue processing votes in waukesha county... an benchmark is achieved. kn 'weve actually started the city of waukesha!' county clerk kathleen novack says... after a slow start processing towns and cities first... workers are now making a dent in the largest city - waukesha. crews have been preforming the recount every day from 9 in the morning until midnight. as of wednesday, that will change: kn 'were going to close up tomorrow at 10pm. we are really doing well. my conservative estimate is well be done close of business friday.' novack says theyre

we're learning more details about the mercury contamination at a green bay school today. lincoln elementary students have returned home after being scanned for the presence of the toxic metal. school officials say a student brought a vial of a silvery metallic substance from home and a group of fifth graders was playing with it. emergency crews-- along with a hazmat team-- were called to the school. health officials say-- while they are being cautious-- there concern. "it can pose a problem by inhalation, getting into the system of the individual. short term effects really aren't of a major concern but it's long term exposure and we don't have that incidence here. fire officials say some areas of the school showed high levels of mercury. the green bay areas school

north dakota.. and one of the hardest hit areas... grand forks. the city receiving just around a foot of snow overnight... with the snow still continuing to fall. city crews working hard to help keep the streets as clear as possible... all grand forks' schools and government offices were closed for the day. in light of the blizzard - the standing rock sioux chairman is renewing a call for dakota access oil pipeline opponents to southern north dakota. he says there's no reason for people in the camp to put their lives at risk. and he says emergency shelters on the nearby reservation are all full. pipeline opponents have vowed to maintain the camp through the winter. they believe the pipeline threatens the tribe's drinking water, and cultural sites. a busy night for milwaukee first responders... as they were called out to three fires overnight. the red cross is helping those who were

"we're going to continue the investigation, we're going to continue the process until absolutely every piece of debris is removed

building and every area has been searched." meantime - recovery efforts at the site of the fire are taking an emotional toll on firefighters. the chaplain for the oakland fire department reveals that for many firefighters this is the first time they are working an incident with so many casualties.
