the 5-year-old girl was shot and killed at her grandparent's house. carl barrett junior was sentenced to 65 years in prison last week. today the second gunman learns his fate. our ashley sears has the story. not a day goes by that we are not haunted by her absence. november 6th 2014 was a dark day for the city of milwaukee. 24-year-old arlis gordon wanted revenge for his stepbrother's death. but he wound up shooting into th my life was almost destroyed that day. my daughter meant more to me than anything in this world. one bullet hit 5-year-old laylah petersen as she was sitting on her grandfather's lap. not only did you you take her from us but then you sat in silence for months on end. over 2 years later we are still dealing with the pain to find closure to this tragedy. at his sentencing thursday-- gordon's attorney told the court he was drunk

his aunt spoke on his behalf-- saying not a day goes by that they don't think about little laylah. we ask for forgiveness and have total love for their family then gordon himself spoke briefly-- i would like to give my condolences to the friends and family of laylah petersen but in the end-- the judge called gordon a vigilante-- who had taken away one of the most valuable members of society. sentencing gordon to 30 years in prison. their lives are forever empty deciding to exact justice for yourself. gordon's sentence was considerably lower than other shooter-- because gordon accepted a plea deal. the getaway driver-- paul farr-- is on probation. in the newsroom-- ashley sears, fox 6 news. ben thanks ashley we tracking a developing story tonight in the town of oconomowoc. a car crashed into a garage at

this morning-- a man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. close to 9:30 pm a 67-year-old was shot and killed near 36th and thurston. the victim's car kept running and struck a fire hydrant and telephone pole and then crashed into a home. the last shooting happened near 52nd and green tree. police say a 34-year-old man took his own life after attempting to kill his 32-year-old girlfriend. but she is expected to survive. investigating a strong-armed robbery. this is surveillance footage near 10th and oklahoma from november 8th. in the top right corner of the screen you see the suspect try to grab the victim's purse -- and then repeatedly punch her. he then grabs the purse and takes off in a gray four door vehicle. if you have any info that can help police - give them a call. only on fox6 tonight - an alert for business owners. a recent scam is targeting

level. it's impacting a business here on 87th and bradley. fox 6's brittany shannon reports, not only did they lose money, the thieves then stole their identity... phil areddia sifts through emails from potential customers. "40:00 hello sales. my name is, then its our sales managers name of the john m ellsworth company" but this is a customer employees know to steer clear of. "38:24 they could fool a lot of people" in fact, employees at john m ellworth wee received an email claiming to be from a reputable company asking for a quote on products. "36:51 we shipped a small portion out and when they changed the shipping at the last minute somebody said something doesnt look right here 37:00" the goods were sent to a fake address and ellsworth lost about one thousand dollars. the apparent "reputable company" turned out to be a scam artist posing as the business. during email correspondence, they steal letterhead, addresses and names. using the technology to fool people and to commit fraud57" they even use fake phone numbers. we called the number scammers used on this email... "41:43 it just goes right to voicemail 44" the better business bureau advises picking up the phone before placing orders. tonight with the latest developments. statewide-- more than 80 percent of the votes have been recounted. so far the discrepancies between recount and election night results have been minor. tabulators spent the day counting all 29- thousand of west allis ballots... the final municipality in milwaukee county to complete its recount. the only hiccup throughout the whole process came wednesday when the city of greenfield discovered about 400 ballots in an offic the greenfield city clerk says poll workers didn't properly package them. but it has all be resolved. tonight a spokesman with the green party says he's pleased with the transparency in milwaukee county. "this is difficult stuff, we had some political reasons as to why. and again we did it not to the advantage of one candidate or the other but to assure that our voting system works." next up: the county must submit its results to the wisconsin election

20-story office tower will go up right next to the bank's current headquarters-- and will feature 10 floors of parking. the goal is to have it finished by late 2019. summerfest also announcing a major project today-- milwaukee world festival and u.s. cellular announced a new ten-year agreement this morning-- including a brand new stage. starting right after summerfest 2017, the u.s. cellular connection stage will be torn down, moved slightly and replaced in time the new venue will be able to hold at least 9-thousand people. and they'll add a 25-foot l-e-d screen-- the largest on the festival grounds. finally tonight -- shining a light on loved ones this holiday season. the "love lights" holiday celebration kicked off this afternoon in wauwatosa. the ceremony is put on by "the friends of luther manor" to benefit the lutheran ministry. each year -- donors contribute five dollars for a single light, or 100 dollars for a string of lights, and they are used to decorate a tall pine on the luther manor campus.
