americans traveling in europe are being told to be on their guard. there is a report based on intelligence that says that militants have been plotting assaults on european cities. the terrorist teams have been casing targets, reporting back to their leaders, even getting the green light to carry out their plots. authorities say they do not know the specific places, only tourist locations in france, britain, and germany to be among them. the state department wants

11:39 pm
some are very strong. republicans have chosen candidates, they say. everyone kind of acknowledges that there is a problem, and the president has taken an increased role to try to bring those voters back in. >> i know the president originally said that he hopes, or he at least thought, that rahm emanuel, his chief of staff, would wait until after the midterms to announce he was running for mayor of chicago, but he did not. he just announced it. >> it was a very clear election strategy, and president obama has sought information from him on numerous issues. there was a youtube video, talking a little bit about obama but more about what he could do for the city. he is a very strong politician, as everybody knows.
