multiple threats against an assistant coach who says he witnessed the abuse. >> and for your the first time we're hearing from one of the victi victims. >> reporter: we're hearing from the mom of one of the alleged child victims set to aerollater this morning. the mother of one of the boys allegedly victimized by former penn state football coach jerry sandusky speaks out for the first time. the mother's voice has been altered to protect her privacy. >> i had said, you know, maybe we should have said something earlier, you should have told me. he was like, well, i didn't know what to do. i didn't know what to do, and you just can't tell him now. >> he felt stuck, he was just a little kid. >> yeah. >> reporter: this woman's son is one of eight little children sandusky has been charged with molesting over a 15-year period. the scandal has rocked penn

state. joe paterno was removed by the school's board of truss stees. penn state's school body trustees have asked students to remain calm. >> we must support each other, believe in each other, and stand united during this trying time. >> the governor of pennsylvania says penn state did the right thing by removing paterno and the university's president. >> when it comes to the safety of children, there can be no margin for error, no hesitation to act. >> assistant coach mike mcqueary who witnessed sandusky abusing a 10-year-old will not be on the sidelines. after receiving multiple threats the university decided he should not coach. >> there were already signs that this stained coach paterno's legacy, right? >> that's right. pennsylvania's two senators, one a democrat and one a republican decided to withdraw their

perry said he is not dropping out of the race. and that is gop candidate michele bachmann keeping her cool as anti-wall street protesters interrupted her speech on a warship in south carolina. police had to escort bachmann from the stage. when she returned to the podium she said, don't you just love the first amendment. and a developing story now from hawaii. five bodies have been recovered after a fiery chopper crash. the pilot and four tourists were killed when the sight-seeing helicopter slammed into a mountain side on the rural i lad omol island of molokai. the aircraft involved in the crash was less than a year old. the passengers including two newlyweds were from the u.s. and canada. today marking the first birthday of little lisa irwin

who was last seen at her family's house in kansas city back on october 4th. police there now are admitting that they've run out of places to look for her, but they say the investigation into her disappearance continues behind the scenes. lisa's two brothers spoke to the investigators about the case for the first time yesterday. well, imagine getting a text from your child saying i think our bus driver is drunk. that's what happened earlier this week in suburban philadelphia when 25 students called and texted their parents. police arrested the driver at another school trying to pick up more students. they say her blood alcohol level was five times the legal limit for operating a commercial vehicle. and this morning we're seeing the first images of the moment wednesday's earthquake struck in eastern turkey. cameras capture the shaking followed by big plumes of dust from several buildings collapsing. the death toll from the magnitude 5.7 quake is up to at least 13. one of the victims was a relief

worker from japan who came to assist after last month's more powerful quake. president obama's marking this veterans day with a trip across the potomac from washington to arlington national cemetery. that's where he'll lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns. he'll make remarks and then it's off to san diego and that's where mr. obama will speak before the carrier classic. it's the first-ever college basketball game played on the flight deck and in this case it's the "uss carl vinson." you can see that tonight on espn at 7:00 eastern time. well, that big game should be over before rain moves into the san diego area this evening. as for the rest of the weather around the nation, showers also hit los angeles in the evening and san francisco early in the day. light rain around seattle, spokane, and portland. showering in western new york, cool from the great lakes to the gulf coast with morning frost and freeze advisories from

the two european countries at the center of the debt crisis are both turning to financial experts to be their new leaders and both are american-educated. greece gets a new prime minister today, lucas papademos, former vice president of the central european bank. and the economist is the favored to head the government. and now time for a check of market activity starting overseas. tokyo's nikkei average picked up 14 points today. hong kong's hang seng added 173. in london the ftse opened lower and on wall street the dow opened and the nasdaq gained 3.5. many companies have special services and deals for veterans. none better than this. the justice department has

reached a deal with bank of america over illegal forecloses. the bank will pay $23 million to 160 service members whose homes were seized. that works out to $116,000 for each of the military members. and your thanksgiving dinner will cost more. the increase is 13%. the biggest gobbler of your money, the turkey itself up 22%. but everything is up still this year. the american federal farm bureau federation says you can feed ten people for less than $5 each. starbucks is moving beyond coffee into juice. it's purchased evolution fresh juice company and plans to open the juice bars next year. there's no word whether they'll carry the starbucks name. eventually starbucks hopes to move into other health food. >> and get ready for ooh a sweeter version of bud light.

police near portland, oregon, have released this dash cam video showing a terrifying crash. a squad car racing to a call slams into another car before careening into a house. luckily no one was seriously injured.
