anti-wall street protesters overnight. this one at the birthplace of the movement, in new york. our reporter is there. the coach accused of molesting boys at penn state says he's innocent,s a at least ten more victims come forward. and diane sawyer talks to gabrielle giffords and asks an important question, will she return to congress? good morning. i'm sunny hostin. >> i'm t.j. winick, in for rob nelson. we begin this morning with breaking news. a crackdown against occupy wall street protesters. >> this morning, hundreds of new york city police started clearing the park where the protesters have been living for nearly two months. they were told to remove their belongings. and they would be allowed back after it was cleaned. >> demonstratored streamed into the surrounding streets. we talked to rich esposito, who

was in the middle of it. >> police were out in force, with batons and shields. they've been driving protesters away from the park, as additional protesters have been streaming, from other parts of the city in, alerted by tweets and social media, to the scene at the park. >> as the crackdown began, police told protesters that their encampment was becoming a health and safety hazard. we'll have a full report on "good morning america." in other breaking news, this morning, jerry sandusky admitted he showered with boys. but the former penn state coach says he is not a pedophile. >> this is the first time sandusky has spoken publicly, since the first time i spoke to him after the scandal broke. tahman bradley has the details. >> reporter: jerry sandusky denies abusing young boys. telling nbc's bob costas in a phone interview, he may have horsed around.

but he is not a pedophile. >> i say that i am innocent of those charges. >> innocent? completely innocent and falsely accused in every aspect? >> well, i could say that, you know, i have done some of those things. i have horsed around with kids. >> are you sexually attracted to young boys? to underage boys? >> am i sexually attracted to underage boys? >> yes. >> sexually attracted, no. i enjoy young people. i love to be around them. i -- no. i'm not sexually attracted to young boys. >> reporter: this was sandusky's first public denial of the 40 counts of sex crimes against young boys. published reports say up to ten suspected victims have come forward. sandusky's lawyer told cnn, his client can answer each of the accusations. >> the kid was messing around, having a good time.

he had mcqueary come in and see that. he felt uncomfortable. >> reporter: the eight boys that sandusky was charged with abusing, were part of his second mile foundation. where thomas day, who took part in the foundation, said the coach was larger than life. >> coach sandusky was like a god. >> the chief executive resigned amid questions whether the charity could have done more. t.j. and sunny? >> thank you. we're looking at a new sex abuse at the revered south carolina college. the president of the citadel said more should have been done after accusations were made in 2007. an excounselor was accused of molesting boys. that information was never turned over to police. that counselor is now charged with molesting five kids he coached after leaving the camp. in the race for the republican nomination, our new poll released overnight shows slipping support for herman cain. 69% say the sexual harassment claims against cain are a

serious matter. and 44% believe the women accusing cain. just 33%, cain himself. cain is visiting iowa today. and with more on the cain campaign, here's abc's karen travers. herman cain's wife, gloria, has stayed out of the campaign spotlight. until now. in an interview with greta van susteren on fox news, gloria cain defends her husband on the accusation of sexual harassment. >> he totally respects women. >> reporter: there are four women who say cain sexually harassed them when he was the head of the national restaurant association in the 1990s. >> he suddenly reached over. and he put his hand on my leg, under my skirt. >> reporter: gloria cain told fox news, she can't believe that her husband could do the things he's been accused of. >> that would have been something that was totally disrespectful of her, as a woman. and i know that's not the person he is. >> reporter: the sexual

harassment scandal may be keeping the focus off of concerns that cain doesn't have a firm fwras grasp of the issues. in wisconsin, he got tripped up when asked if he agreed with president obama on libya. >> okay, libya. no -- that's a different one. i have all sorts of stuff twirling around in my head. >> reporter: in october, the former pizza mogul was neck and neck with mitt romney. but a new cnn poll shows he's dropped 11 points. he now trails a surging newt gingrich. karen travers, abc news, washington. another sign of the gingrich momentum came overnight. a new bloomberg poll shows a statistical four-way tie in iowa between cain, gingrich, romney and ron paul. the supreme court has agreed to hear arguments over president obama's controversial health care overhaul. at issue is a key provision of the law that requires every
