they faced off in a debate here on abc 7 with a three days to go before the new hampshire primary. as you saw, and mitt romney was a frequent target. the front-runner and rick santorum sparedred. one interesting exchange came after ron paul called newt gingrich a draft dodger during the vietnam war. he said he was not eligible because he had a wife and kid. >> i have an idea of what it is like to worry about your father getting killed. i resent the kind of comments you routinely make without accurate information and slurring people. >> when i was drafting, i was married and had two kids. i went. >> the next debate is going to

be tomorrow morning. let's talk about the contentious debate tonight. >> with analysis is rebecca cooper from manchester, new hampshire. >> what were the headlines tonight? >> midevening. i think the headline from tonight was that while the candidates did criticize mitt romney they did not focused their attacks on him. a lot of the bickering was between the second tier candidates. rick santorum, they did not focus their fire on mitt romney. many feel like mitt romney was able to come out relatively unscathed. he might not have won over any converts but he did not lose any. for that, it was a win. >> amazing how he has walked

away unscathed. what was the focus tonight? >> they did talk a lot about the economy. the focus was supposed to be jobs but there was a lot of discussion of other social issues, gave rise, contraception, foreign policy. -- gay rights, contraception, foreign policy. rick perry says he wants to send soldiers back into iraq now. we saw some differences and not much focus on jobs and the economy. that is where mitt romney wants to stake his claim saying he as been able to produce jobs in his previous life. rick santorum says he is a manager but not a leader. it was in the areas of social policy we saw the sharpest differences. >> the back and forth between

george and mitt romney over contraception. what is going on in that room at your end? >> we have the camera crew. they can move over and show you what is going on. this is called the spin room. it is the politics after debate. they have their surrogates talk about what a great job backhanded it did. in this room, and you can see several minutes after the debate, there are a lot of people out here talking about their candidates, people like john talking about mitt romney why he felt mitt romney won the debate. we had the former governor of pennsylvania talking about an jon huntsman. all of them come out with their surrogates and they try to spin

the media as to why they think their candidate won. it is really up to the voter. for that, we will have to wait until tuesday. >> thank you for the latest there. closer to home, police have released a sketch of a man they think kidnapped a woman near the verizon center and sexually assaulted her. take a look. he has a southern accent and a mustache. police believe he adopted the woman on thursday night. anyone with information is asked to call police. of those speed cameras are currently working. tickets have dropped from nearly 600,000 to four hundred 20,000 -- 420,000.

marion barry has lost his reelection campaign. he predicts he will win the primary but at least 70%. he says he and has more political clout than ever. a kennedy is considering a run for congress. he is forming an exploratory committee and resigning from his job as a prosecutor. kennedy, who is 31 is the son of joseph kennedy ii. you have more time to file your income tax this year. the irs is pushing beat -- the deadline to april 17. april 15 is a sunday and the next day is emancipation day. taxpayers requesting an extension will have until october 2 file.

a new study paints a picture of kids to spend two or three% of their time getting time to run around. >> the reason, teachers are spending more time on learning in the classroom. more on what could be a serious problem for children. >> she says she cannot imagine her son sitting in a classroom all day long. >> i think the more they exercise the more focused they will be for the instructional time. >> according to a new study most are not physically active in school. about 70% of their time is spent sitting compared to 2% in vigorous activity.

this evening now that the cold front has moved. 43 in cumberland. 425 culpeper. -- 45 culpeper. the wind chill factor is not so bad. it feels like 30 degrees in minneapolis. for us, and no wind chill to deal with. it will remain mild for the next couple of days or so. satellite and radar, and this is it moving off the coast. giving us a good deal of sunshine. with winds out of the north, it will keep our temperatures down compared to what we have today. still above average for this time of year. the next 48 hours, a low pressure in the south and west of us. by monday, southwestern

virginia, it will move off the coast. a good deal of sunshine for the day on tuesday followed by the potential for heavier rain. up towards of an inch by the time the system moves out of here. clouds tonight, 32 to 37 degrees. high temperatures tomorrow around 50 degrees or so and be extended outlook i believe a glitzy, and there is. 70 -- a 70% chance for heavier rains on wednesday. some models indicate the potential for some wintry weather is late next week in. we will worry about it next weekend. enjoy tomorrow and have good memories of today. 68 degrees.
