bounds sat in the last administration by george the bush and his reelection committee. a lot of democrats protested at the time. in 2008, senator hillary clinton ran an ad against senator obama that had an image of osama bin laden. the obama campaign says they are not -- this is a policy debate and they are talking about whether or not mitt romney would have wanted, would have approved an extraordinary operation to go after bin laden within the boundaries of another country, pakistan. there are "to suggest he would not have. we will never know, of course. i do not think it crosses any lines, but generally speaking, i think all is fair in love, war and politics. >> you know the president pretty

well. is he thinking, on -- they do the same thing? or is he thinking in politics it does not pay to be subtle? what is he thinking about? >> first of all, i think there was some frustration among members of the president's team that there was not more credit given to president obama by the media, by the public for the successful operation. i feel like they thought that they had to be the ones to keep -- to toot the horn because no one is doing it for them. as for the president's talk, i remember covering the in 2007 when senator obama made this provocative speech about national security in which he said if the u.s. got good intelligence on a high-value target in pakistan and pakistan

would not act, he would. that was very controversial at the time. democrats, including senator clinton and senator biden. ultimately, the obama team feels like that is what he said, that is what he did. he won the nomination, he won the presidency, and ultimately, he won the argument when asked this week about the idea of going into pakistan without alerting the pakistan authorities, he said he had put them on notice in that 2007 speech. there is a lot invested in a speech for the president and i think he feels good about it. >> you can watch abc this week live here on abc 7 at 10:00 a.m. >> the family of yardley love is
