caught on tape at newark international airport. a pilot on a u.s. airways flight from philadelphia had to land its plane on its belly when the landing gear didn't come down. >> the plane made a safe landing after developing trouble with its landing gear. it was a frightening moment with sparkles flying. fire and rescue crews sprade foam on the plane to keep it from catching fire. >> the crew and passengers had left philadelphia just before 10:00. they tried to determine the source of the problem and when nothing worked he brought the plane down safely on its belly. >> pilots tell us they train for that sort of thing and that training in this case paid off. >> there were no injuries and the passengers were transported by bus to the terminal.

this week governor o'malley signs legislation that includes new gun provisions. gun buyers are required to submit finger prints to the state police to buy a handgun. it bans 45 types of assault weapons and limits magazines to 10 bullets. it is expected to go into effect october 1. >> a family caught a thief on camera outside their home. now they hope their video and loss will help protect their neighbors. >> here he is creeping around making his way to the front of the car. the carport just feet away from where the family was sleeping. >> you have to wonder what they are capable of doing. he was not afraid at all. >> he had no idea this stranger had been lurking around his home. it wasn't until his gasoline can went missing he decided to

parents of a girl after she disappeared from a playground and spent the night in her school bathroom. when it got dark on tuesday night she was afraid to come home so she went to the school and found an open door and slept in the bathroom. her mother talked to us about the minute she realized her daughter was gone. >> she wasn't in her room doing her homework. we found out she was not at home. >> she was found the next morning. she says it's something she'll never do again. >> metro officials think an electrical problem caused tuesday night's fire on a train. metal shielded hoses may have come in contact with power cables under the car causing an electrical short. the fire was confined to the under side of the car. the mess caused major delays. >> we're going to tell you how

this week friends, family members and friends celebrated chuck brown's legacy. >> the days of the chuck brown go go concerts ended last year with his death. today the howard theater prepared to remember him with a concert of go go great that would include some of his children that came to talk with us today. >> he taught us to be strong. we have to be strong for the fans. >> with the fans supporting us throughout all this time -- >> a steady stream of fans came all day buying tickets for the show. >> chuck was a great man. >> and the children remember the great out pouring last year from the crowds that lined up to view his body to the thousands who attended the funeral the government sponsored. >> to see the streets flooded

in the forecast for the day tomorrow. once this lifts to the north of us, warmer air will move in. wind will change direction more out of the south and it's going to feel a lot like late spring, early summer by tuesday, wednesday. through ur future cast the night widely scattered showers. omorrow temperatures around 73 degrees. as we move through sunday night into monday a lot of warmer air, warmer moist air moves in and daytime high temperatures monday just around 80 degrees. 57-63 for on overnight low. keep an umbrella handy for tomorrow. it's not going to be a washout but you don't want to plan a picnic. temperatures are going to warm up nicely, upper 80's by
