>> this is abc 7 news washington weekly. on your side. >> our top story, the historic nuclear deal iran struck with the u.s. and other world powers. the six-month interim agreement will limit iran's nuclear program. in return, the sanctions on iran will be eased. many question if this deal could actually work. mark has the latest. >> the united states and other world powers reached an agreement with iran on its nuclear problem sunday. president obama says the six-

month accord is an important first step toward a comprehensive solution. >> today, that diplomacy opened up a new path toward a world that is more secure. a future in which we can verify that iran's nuclear program is peaceful and that it cannot build a nuclear weapon. >> iran agreed to curb its nuclear activities while crippling sanctions are eased. nothe iranian nation does seek nuclear weapons. >> in congress, there is concern on both sides of the aisle that this deal could by iran more time to develop a nuclear weapon. >> we are concerned as to whether iran will give up -- live up to these commitments. >> we trusted the iranians before just like the north koreans on nuclear issues. what have we gotten for it? hide theirue to development of these weapons. >> israel is dead set against a deal with iran. hashis is a regime that consistently talked about wiping my country off the map.

they have consistently called israel a cancer that has to be removed. we would be irresponsible not to take those threats seriously. be aime minister would responsible and not taking steps to protect the people of israel. >> the united states says israel will be safer because of video since it limits iran's nuclear capabilities and gives the u.s. new insight into the nuclear program. vows no one will be deceived by a run. >> earlier tonight, i spoke with politico about reaction to iran's nuclear deal. >> the reaction from congressional hawks was basically what you would expect. they don't like the deal. they don't even like the idea of a deal never mind the specifics. a lot of them were really upset that it doesn't require iran to comply with existing u.s. sanctions. i think it was just about a couple weeks ago when secretary kerry was on the hill.

there were many who were trying to push for additional sanctions. terry pointed out this morning that even when we increased sanctions, iran has continued with its program. will or be a continued push for more sanctions? >> yes. all the hawkish senators, the pro-you would expect to be israel, strong allies of israel, are going to be out there pushing for more sanctions. ,hether or not they will get it there will be some democratic desire to back the deal even though some democrats are criticizing it -- i don't think necessarily you are going to see more sanctions right away. >> you mentioned chuck schumer. a strong ally of the white house but a strong supporter of the state of israel. the reaction came as we expected with prime minister netanyahu saying this is a historic mistake. >> for netanyahu, this is a major domestic problem for him.

thing. if iran behaves, we will continue giving them more sanctions relief if they can you to behave. it is sort of a trial agreement that gives them more negotiating room to strike a broader deal. >> kevin, thank you. >> a critical deadline is fast approaching for the healthcare.gov website. the president promised the problem-plagued site will be fixed by the end of this month. that is saturday. the washington post reported the obama administration will consider the new federal insurance marketplace successful if 80% of users can buy health care plans online. lost in the whole debate over health care and the troubled website, the simple fact that many americans do not have medical coverage. there are many willing to go great lengths and distances to find affordable health care. >> it was not your typical trip to the operating room. over 30 hours.

one long taxi ride. a hospital in bangkok, thailand. it was here that jeff wheeler decided to get shoulder replacement surgery in a move many of his friends and family called risky. u.s.lot of people in the picture this as being a third world country. until you go and understand, they just don't really know. >> he injured his shoulder while working as a boilermaker. he received workers comp and was given the option to get his shoulder repaired on his own. >> i checked the prices and compared prices. i thought it would be nice to travel and have a little adventure.

>> we are back with a look at the week ahead. tomorrow a court hearing is scheduled for chris brown. he is not going to be there because a d.c. judge waived his appearance, allowing him to remain in rehab in california. the singer is charged with misdemeanor simple assault after police say he punched a man outside a hotel last month. brown is on probation for beating then girlfriend rihanna back in 2009. last week, a california judge ordered brown back to rehab for three months. also tomorrow, the virginia state election board will certify results from this month's election. the certification is getting attention because the virginia attorney general's race is still undecided. democrat mark herring has declared himself the winner but republican marco the chain is not ready to concede. he says he will decide whether to seek a recount after the state are certification. another big event happening

tomorrow. the capitol christmas tree is set to arrive in the district. the 88 foot spruce was cut in washington state. it has made stops throughout the country on its way to d.c. the tree will be decorated and lit in a special ceremony on tuesday, december 3. you can track the exact location by going to our website. today, we will learn the name of the national zoo's and the club. it is tradition to name the cub when it is 100 days old. the zoo gave the public five names to choose from. more than 99,000 people have voted so far. prepare to bundle up. we are going to have another ♪ kiss that boring bird goodbye ♪ ♪ at our thanksgiving we're gonna make our turkey fly ♪ ♪ that's my kind of holiday.

what happens. all this moisture converges upon the mid-atlantic. that will switch over to all rain, heavy rain at times, late in the day on tuesday. upwards of 1-2 inches of rain tuesday night before switching over to a little bit of wet snow. we are not expecting accumulation across the immediate metro area but be forewarned, that travel delay could make it very busy out there. mainly clear and cold tonight. 15-23 as it moves through the day tomorrow. eyes around 35-40. the extended outlook shows temperatures cooling down for thanksgiving day. temperatures in the upper 30's up to the 40's next week. >> all right, thank you. up to the 40's next week. >> allook, every day we're using more and more energy.
