that they help promote the company. a hearing is scheduled for may 19. an officer had to use a stun gun in a cafeteria employee in an elementary school. it went into lockdown after arlington police say the cafeteria manager began punching an assistant principal and pulled out a knife on that principle. officers used the stun gun on the cafeteria manager when she reached for a bag after claiming to use a firearm. students said it was obvious immediately that the lockdown was not a drill. >> i knew something was wrong in the cafeteria. they closed the cafeteria. >> a cafeteria employee is undergoing a mental evaluation. and in mental screening for the maryland man accused of staging a banana peel fall at the metro station. we saw him appear in court to face fraud charges for the incident last august.

given no help from a nearby fire station after he collapsed near the d.c. firehouse. on friday, d.c. fire and ems released its internal report. they say a rookie firefighter twice called a lieutenant on duty to come to the desk, but the lieutenant failed to do so. he later died at the hospital. the internal report recommended discipline for the firefighters involved in this case. tomorrow, the airport authority is expected to announce yet another delay with metro silver line. our news partners report circuitry issues will further delay certification. it will becertified, turned over to metro for 90 days of testing. the new delay means phase one may not open until the summer. the deadline is fast approaching for anyone who wants to file in the gubernatorial primary election.

>> all of the winter storms we have experienced this year are having a big impact on some area businesses. some of those businesses are suffering while others are doing well. rebecca cooper explains. a family-owned business that likes to offer reliability. they have been open every day since the snow. some customers even using the store as a refuge while their own office is closed. >> we offer a lot of services that you can operate your business from here. business has definitely been hurt by the weather. people cannot come to pick up their projects and we do not get paid.

>> and you can offer that. >> absolutely. >> that might be the reason why spring break travel prices are up 14% this year. >> some last-minute bookings. some cold weather on the way. what a treat we have this weekend. temperatures yesterday and today in the mid-60's. outside we go at this hour. 48 degrees. the wind is beginning to pick up out of the northwest at 16 miles per hour. our high temperature today was 64 degrees. keep in mind, the average for this time of year is 49 degrees for the high. ,owhere close to the record 1874. it was 78 degrees. george washington university now at 35 the grant -- 35 degrees. takes us toop alexandria, now 45 degrees.

the morning low at 45 degrees. temperatures beginning to fall. off to the north and west, that is where the coldest area is located. degrees in cumberland. 39 degrees in frederick. quantico. over in if you are looking for cold air, go over to wisconsin or minnesota. nine degrees in minneapolis. the colder air on the way and will be modified a little bit. we are looking at single digits around here, temperatures that will feel 30 degrees colder compared to where they are today. the cold front moving through earlier this afternoon. now we are looking at the back end of it. this is where the showers are located. mainly rain showers right now, but just off to the north and west of us. earlier this evening, we had some snow showers. all of this moves our way and is of thehere by the time rush-hour commute. no weather problems early tomorrow morning. this is our futurecast as we

move through the next 48 hours. temperatures tonight will only be in the lower to middle 40's. still a good deal of sunshine. windtrong, warm westerly will make you feel so much colder out there. another round of winter weather, maybe a few snow showers late tuesday night. not expecting it to come out to a whole lot. expect this to remain south of us and move out to sea. here is the forecast for overnight. the rain and snow showers will diminish. tomorrow, the skies clear and the wind picks up. the extended outlook will show temperatures only in the middle 30's on wednesday. a brief bump on thursday and by friday and saturday, yet another cool down on the way. check out the nighttime lows. they will range from the upper teens to the middle 20's.
