also being found unresponsive in a tub. we're told she is surrounded by family members who are praying for a miracle. here's my "nightline" coanchor juju chang with the latest details. >> currently the prognosis for bobbi kristina is very grim. >> reporter: the only daughter of the legendary whitney houston and bobby brown reportedly in a medically indeuced coma after being found unconscious over the weekend in the bathtub. >> possible cardiac arrest 21-year-old female in the bathtub, face-down. pd's en route. cpr in progress, we're getting a third party that is not on scene. >> reporter: her husband found her unconscious and began cpr until the ambulance arrived. >> she was transported to north fulton hospital. and she is still alive and breathing. >> there are some conflicting reports just how much brain activity she's currently exhibiting. but it seems like it's minimal

at most. and at this stage, it would really take a miracle for her to make any sort of meaningful recovery. >> reporter: the incident eerily reminiscent of the way her famous mother died nearly three years ago, to the day, cutting short the career of a singer known for her soaring voice with iconic hits like "i will always love you." ♪ and i will always love you ♪ >> reporter: houston was found a bathtub at the beverly hilton. toxicology reports found a cocktail of drugs in her system marijuana, xanax, muscle relax ant. >> it does take a tragic twist that's it's so close to the anniversary. >> i think anyone who watched bobbi kristina growing up probably would have predicted bobbi kristina was going to have a rough life. but i don't think anyone could have imagined that her downfall would be so shockingly similar to her mother's. >> reporter: bobbi kristina's

father, bobby brown, spoke to lifetime shortly after whitney's death. >> how is bobbi kristina coping with the loss of her mother? >> she's strong, a strong girl. strong like glue. some days are good some days are bad. >> reporter: tonight bobby brown hoping his daughter's strength keeps her alive, give my daughter the love and support she sneeds at this time." >> bobby is holding out the most hope. sources have indicated he really is going to struggle the most with terminating any sort of life support. one source told us that losing whitney was catastrophic for bobby. but losing bobbi kristina will practically kill him. that this is breaking his heart like nothing ever has. >> reporter: celebrities turning to social media to show their support. lady gaga tweeting let's all together send our love and healing energy to whitney's daughter. the actress ya-ya dacosta who played whitney, praying with my

of family systems being adversely affected by the disease of addiction. >> reporter: dr. drew says the odds are stacked against her. >> even if she didn't inherit the genetic potential, being raised around a family system affected by alcoholism addiction is traumatic in and of itself. >> reporter: a year ago she announced her marriage to gordon sharing photos of their wedding rings. #happilymarried. nick gordon was raised for a time by whitney. he refers to her at times as mom. but was never legally adopted. >> many people think her marriage to nick was a very odd and potentially damaging choice. this was something who she grew up sort of seeing as a brother. >> reporter: bobbi kristina took the time to dispel the controversy surrounding their romance. >> i'm tired of hearing people say, ew, you're engaged to your brother? let me clear up something. we aren't even real brother and sister. nor is he my adopted brother." not everyone in the family supporting their relationship.

bobbi kristina's aunt pat houston filing a restraining order against gordon in march of last year. the couple took part in yet another reality series. shooting to kill and eating the spoils. saying hunting brings them closer to their food and fresh meat is healthier to boot. why is it controversial? here's abc's neal karlinsky. >> reporter: photo shoots for models take on all kinds of themes. but staged look trying to make camouflage hot. believe it or not, this is the new face of hunting. that's right hunting. and her name is shocking. >> for-give me. when i think of a hunter it's generally a big guy with a gut, a beard, some chew in his mouth. not this. >> yeah, i get that a lot. >> reporter: in "the hunger games" katniss is a stone-cold killer with bow and arrow. strong self-reliant. the anti-barbie doll for a generation of girls. eva shockey is the real thing. a professional hunter with a bow or a gun.

she's at the leading edge of a new generation of hunters. women moving in on a tradition traditionally men's sport. >> that is your preferred -- >> i enjoy it yeah. it feels natural. pocahontas, we grew up watching stuff like that. >> reporter: this is no children's story. she finds herself in the midst of a male-dominated sport, a highly controversial one. anti-hunting sentiment has been on the rise as well. melissa bachmann's smiling picture with a dead lion led to national outcry. there was a petition to ban her from returning to south africa. heave have a got a taste of it after posing with a bear she killed in north carolina. threats poured in on facebook. she says she had 5,000 death threats in one day. >> your should have quote died instead of giving birth to you? >> when they attack me that's just a form of theater, basically. they are used to a hunter with a beard, drinking beer that's not what i represent.

>> do you understand the looks of a picture of you posing smiling with a beautiful bear? >> they don't understand we eat all that meat. what are they eating at the dinner table? do they have meat on their plates? do they go to whole foods and buy a $20 steak? do they know where that came from? >> reporter: the number of female hunters grew twice as fast as male hunters between 2006 and 2011. eva has become the face of that trend. only the second woman ever to grace the cover of "field and stream" in the magazine's 120-year history. the other woman was none other than the queen of england back in 1976. >> the queen and you. >> i know, how crazy is that? yeah, it's a huge huge huge honor. >> reporter: she's the daughter of jim shockey, the host of a popular hunting show. growing up she started going along with her dad on hunting trips when she was only 3 or 4. here she is at the age of 7.

>> seriously, for probably five six years now. >> reporter: she didn't start hunting herself until she was 20 and never actually killed an animal until this moment, captured on video. >> did i miss him? >> no you hit him. you hit him. that's exactly what happened. >> i'm about to cry. >> don't cry. easy. >> are you serious? >> you hit him. >> it was emotional. >> it was emotional, yeah. it was exciting. i was nervous, i was worried. >> do you feel the impact of taking a life? >> as a hunter if you don't feel remorse, reverent for that animal that just gave you a life, you should maybe rethink it. because we don't think this animal -- like that's a living animal. it's now become food for people.

>> reporter: watching her hunt, it's clear she's really into it. and she insists this isn't sport killing, it's tradition. even the ultimate in being health conscious. knowing where your food comes from. >> what is it like to actually hunt? what's it like out there? >> it's amazing. it's a journey i would explain s. because it's not just as a hunter -- it's not just that one minute when -- one second three seconds, pulling a bow back there's a deer. that's not what a hunter is. your you're outdoors breathing fresh air, away from computers. that's what hunting is. >> reporter: enthusiasm and good looks have helped make her a star with a tv show fans endorsement deals. >> this is the under armour -- >> reporter: the rise of the woman hunter has brought the marketplace along for the ride.

complete with clothes and new stylish form-fitting hunting gear no one dreamed of a few short years ago. >> look like a girl. cute fashionable. in hunting clothes it didn't happen. >> reporter: under armour is releasing an an entirely new clothing line. >> we've been in the hunting business about four years. but literally in the last two years, we've seen a dramatic change in the business. >> reporter: it's not just eva shockey taking aim. hunting enthusiast teresa veil miss kansas in the 2013 miss america contest, is planning to demonstrate her archery skills for an early talent competition. >> political. >> definitely. teach people not to mess with me. >> reporter: the judges decided it was too dangerous. let's not forget the person some call the original female hunter sarah palin. now the host of "amazing america with sarah palin" on the sportsman channel. >> where are you heading? >> somewhere amazing. >> reporter: she never made it
