kimberly: the snow is over with but the wind is not. >> exactly, i have been hearing from a lot of people that said that they have lost power, so hopefully you won't. they said it could feel 10-20 degrees below zero for tomorrow morning, so it is a very dangerous wind. tomorrow the air temperature will be in the teens, we will have mostly sunny skies for president's a day, but it is looking more and more unlikely that this is going to be a big snowstorm that as -- snowstorm as we head into next week.

transit system across the country should be ordered -- the metro transit system is looking at how they handled emergency problems with smoke in a ventilation system at l'enfant plaza >> worse. what are we doing -- l'enfant plaza worse. >> what are we doing to address this. >> we want to change the scale. kimberly: metro said it checked all fans and said they are looking fine and working properly. one man died and several more were sent to the hospital. these are portions of the third rail cover boards and electrical system components from near the l'enfant plaza station.

kimberly: some pretty intense wind gusts ahead. elaine: -- eileen: let's get to those right now, across the region we have 57 mile per hour wind gusts in enberg, virginia, -- in annenberg, virginia. these winds -- annandale virginia. these winds are no joke, and this wind brought down a good amount of snow, about 1-2 inches in a very short. -- in a very short period of time.

and the wind gusts are going to strengthen a little bit more through the overnight hours. but the temperatures are so much colder than they were. in fact, a lot colder. 19 degrees at reagan international, and these strong northwesterly winds are really good to help it feel that much colder. in fact, that whole area is under a high wind warning with wind gusts through tomorrow with wind gusting up to 50-60 miles per hour. the latest update shows that it feels like eight degrees below zero in gaithersburg and 10 degrees below zero in hagerstown. if you don't have to be outside stay inside and snuggle up to the heat. i know there are a lot of watches and warnings, but the basic weather story is just that it is cold and that it is windy.
