states sat war with islam. saying instead, the u.s. is at war with those who have perverted islam, as he made those comments the pentagon outlined plans for the largest military operation we have yet seen against isis. this would be an effort to retake the city of mosul in iraq. this is the crowd jewel for isis. this is an operation the pentagon said would involve 20,000 or more iraqi troops going in specifically trained by the united states for this mission. the operation would begin in april or may. and, george it's possible this operation would include some embedded u.s. troops for the purposes of calling in air strikes. that is a decision the president himself would make. >> 2 white house taking incoming in a different way. the former mayor of new york taking on the president saying he doesn't think the president loves america. >> reporter: yeah and giuliani prefaced the comment by saying

[ bleep ]. >> reporter: a one-week manhunt coming to a fraptic end in this las vegas neighborhood thursday. cameras rolling at 49-year-old bob meyers learns police have surrounded the alleged killer. >> are you all happy. you made my wife look like an animal and my son. there's the animal a block away! are you happy? >> reporter: dozens of officers armed to the teeth surrounding

erich nowsch. >> please! turn your [ bleep ] phone off. >> reporter: after a tens two-hour standoff police arresting nowsch, just 19 years old, on suspicion of murder, shirt lest and in handcuffs. >> nowsch was taken into custody. the investigation is ongoing. >> reporter: naush has yet to be formally charged. initially described as random road range turned deadly we know tammy meyers knew nowsch. her husband saying she counseled him. >> she was really good to him. she fed him, she gave him money. >> reporter: police say they only learned of the personal connection hours before the standoff. bob meyers said this. >> i couldn't tell you this before. he knew where i lived. >> reporter: nowsch's arrest

just the latest twist in this bizarre and ever-changing case. initially, police say meyers was shot as a result of random road rage while teaching her daughter how the drive. later, authorities revealed she went home after the encounter, rounding up her oldest son who had a gun, and helped them track down the driver. the suspect fold them home and shot her in the driveway. this morning, police say they're still looking for a second suspect. while they believe nowsch pulled the trigger, they're still not sure who was driving the car. this morning, many are wondering what took so long for an arrest? the victim lived and was killed right back there. nowsch lived about a one-minute walk away. he's now facing three felony charges, george? >> can you, kendis. let's get more from ryan smith, our legal analyst. a bizarre story. tough for prosecutors. they have a lot to sort through.

>> that's right. it could be a slam-dunk case for prosecutors. which story do you believe? because in their current account, they're driving around the neighborhood they come upon these folks. these potential suspects. then they leave. in that sense, prosecutors will say they're deescalating. the suspects follow them to the home and open fire. that would point to the suspects being the responsible parties. >> one of the things we look at does nowsch claim he's was firing in self-defense? >> that will be tough to prove. they're saying he followed them home and then opened fire. where is the threat? he would have to claim imminent threat that was deadly and he was trying to fepd thought ing toing to fend that off with equal force. if they knew this guy, knew he was batd news, why not call the police? why not call 911? that will make the case harder for prosecutors. >> meantime another spepect could be on the loose.

we begin with the superbug outbreak at a los angeles hospital. raising concern across the country now. the bacteria linked to two deaths but nearly 180 patients may have been exposed, raising more questions about the design of a hard-to-clean medical instrument used on thousands of patients every year in the united states. here's cecilia vega. >> reporter: this morning, we have learned an 18-year-old student is among the victims of a potentially deadly superbug outbreak. >> his prognosis at this time is guarded but optimistic. >> reporter: an attorney for the teen telling us he spent much of the last three months in icu, after undergoing a common medical procedure at ronald reagan medical center and he remains in the hospital this morning. nearly 200 patients have been exposed to the drug resistant bacteria known as cre. an outbreak linked to possibly
