good morning, america. breaking overnight. tornado outbreak. dozens of twisters touching down in texas and oklahoma. >> it's trying to pull itself together to try to make one large tornado. >> debris flying through the air. miles of destruction. a new warning of more flooding to come. new overnight. stranded. this massive cruise ship with more than 3500 people on board running aground, stuck for hours off the coast of bermuda. what caused the ship to go off course? and is it safe to set sail again? we hear from passengers. new this morning. biggest recall ever. nearly 34 million defective air bags on the road right now with the potential to explode, sending shrapnel flying. and now alarming new questions. are the replacement air bags safe? rumer and val!

reports of tornadoes. 10 in oklahoma and 17 in texas. leaving behind miles of destruction. this morning, in mine ral wells -- residents cleaning up after a reported tornado tore through town. >> debris flew up in the air. big black shingles and such. >> reporter: buildings taking major damage. including this church. >> it's scary. >> reporter: in austin pieces of this hotel fly through the air. this tornado touching down 100 miles outside san antonio. >> we're just thankful it wasn't worse than what it is. >> reporter: this morning, residents waiting for first light to really get a chance to assess the damage. meanwhile, the police chief telling us that despite all the destruction, no one was hurt. george? >> thank you, phillip. let's go to ginger with more on

the flooding danger. >> that's the danger this morning. 4 to 8 ichlgs of rain from colorado to north texas and oklahoma. it's still happening this morning. southeast oklahoma arkansas. that's where we find the flash flood warnings. if you're in red, change your plans this morning. don't drive. you don't need to. it is going to be bad for a couple of hours. then it will sink to the southeast. more storms back to the west. the potential for more damaging wind, hail, and tornadoes. we'll have much more coming up. now the cruise ship that ran aground more than 3500 people stuck off the coast of bermuda. matt gutman joins us with the latest. good morning, matt. >> reporter: good morning, robin. overnight, those passengers said they initially panicked as they felt that ship lurch when it plowed into the coral reef. this morning, dive teams are back out inspecting the ship. until they give it the green

light, that boat is not going anywhere. this morning, the "norwegian dawn" stopped. nearly 3500 people on board left high and dry. >> we felt the ship shudder for maybe about 10 15 seconds. and then all of a sudden there was an abrupt stop. you could tell the ship had stopped moving. >> reporter: the ship losing all power after leaving bermuda tuesday night, reportedly getting stuck on part of a coral reef. rachel thinking they might have to abandon ship. >> my family and i wept to our cabins. got personal items, our cell phones and passports. >> reporter: the power restored. but the ship still stuck. smaller boats swarming the ship inspecting it for damage. this tugboat tugging out to try to nudge the ship loose. six hours later with high tide coming in, this 1,000-foot-long city on the sea was dislodged

and moved to a location nearby where it anchored. the ship's steering system suffered a temporary malfunction, causing the ship to sail slightly off course hitting the seabed. adding everyone on board was safe. no fuel leaked. passengers on board concerned about what a ps going to happen if the ship can actually set sail. >> i don't want to continue on this ship into open seas. because the response time within two mile of shore was hours. the response time in open seas i don't even want to think about. >> reporter: and that concern is understandable understandable. there's 800 mile of open ocean between bermuda and boston. the good news this morning, the ship is back at port in bermuda. everybody is safe. >> thank you, matt. we turn to the largest consumer recall in u.s. history. nearly 34 million air bags recalled because they're prone to explode. is blamed for five

deaths in the united states and more than 100 injuries. david kerley has the latest from washington. >> reporter: good morning, george. this is a doubling of this recall. millions of americans could be driving with air bags that could explode into shrapnel in an accident. 1 in 7 cars on the road needing its air bag replaced because of this. the recall a move that the japanese air bagmaker takata has been fighting. >> up until now, takata has refused to acknowledge that their air bags are defective. that changes today. >> reporter: nearly 34 million cars from 11 carmakers. takata believes that moisture in high humidity areas is getting into the canisters and changing the chemical compound causing the stronger explosions. they can shatter the canister sending shrapnel into the bag

and into 2 cory lost sight after his air bag exploded. can you tell us why you're not expapding the recall? this morning, alarming details about the bag inflaters already recalled. the company tested more than 30,000. and nearly 1 out of every 100 september shrapnel flying when it was ignited. the government says it could take a couple of years to replace all the air bags recalled. it's not sure if the new inflaters used as part of the recall will be safe many the long run. it will test the replacements too. >> there will be a test to open sure that the final remedy will be safe. period. >> reporter: takata which for so long refused to acknowledge the scope of the problem says it's pleased to reach the agreement with the u.s. government. u.s. authorities will be independent matly involved in the recall. and whether those replacement bags will work in the long term.

robin? >> thank you, david. now to the latest on deflategate. robert kraft, the new england patriots' owner says he'll accept the league's punishment. but that's not stopping tom brady from fighting back. tom llamas has that story. >> reporter: this morning, robert kraft, the new england patriots' owner trying to move his team past >> i don't want to continue the rhetoric that's gone on for the last four months. i'm going to accept reluctantly, what he has given to us. >> reporter: kraft, accepting the nfl-imposed $1 million fine and loss of two draft choices as punishment for his team's use of underinflated footballs in the afc championship. >> though i might disagree with what is decided, i do have respect for the commissioner. >> reporter: but as for craft's star quarterback, tom brady. >> there is an elephant in the room.

>> where? >> reporter: the super bowl mvp is still fighting the league to reverse his four-game suspension. the nfl player's association says the punishment is based on infuf evidence. >> bob kraft is taking the punishment because he wants to show respect to the commissioner's office. it doesn't affect the nfl right now. the nfl p.a. has said it will continue to support him. >> reporter: with the patriots accepting their punishmentbrady heads into the lion's den with the league's commissioner. kraft and goodell have even it out, reports espn. kraft did not address brady's situation. he says he feels there was no hard in evidence the nfl investigation. following the press conference the union said brady's appeal will move forward. to the race for president now. hillary clinton taking questions from the media for the first time in weeks.

an oil spill along the california coast. an estimated 21,000 gallons flowing into the pacific from a broken pipeline. the oil has spread across four miles of coastline just north of santa barbara. crews are trying to contain the oil so it's not spread by the wind and waves. some whales were spotted near ththe slick and several birds have been seen covered in oil. it could be one of the largest charity fraud cases ever. the ftc cracking down on four cancer charities it says bilked donors out of $187 million over the past four years, as executives reportedly lined their pockets with get this 97 cents out of every dollar collected. two are fighting the allegations. two have settled. new health concerns for vice president joe biden's son. beau biden is undergoing treatment at walter reed medical

now, for the first time this morning, we're hearing 911 calls from inside that car. a mother frightened not only for her husband, but scared for the life of her 2-year-old daughter in the back seat. >> they're attacking our car right now. we have a baby in the car. it's really scary. >> reporter: rosalyn testified that t the drivers tried to drag her out. >> we have baby in the car. stop! oh my god. stop. we have a baby in the car. >> reporter: she retreated to her child in the back seat. at least 30 bikers followed the family's black suv following a motorcycle rally. a traffic nightmare follows. lian caught inside it. he bumps into one of the choppered. the bikers swarm him. slashing his tires. lian guns it running over one of the bikers. the pack chases him for three miles. and then this. >> my god, stop! we have a baby in the car.

>> reporter: fortunately, mother and child were rescued. on monday alexian lain said he was in fear more his life and his wife and daughter's lives. >> thank you very much. we turn to a big break in the case of the brazen bank heist in london where thieves made off with $300 million in jewels and other valuables. police have arrested nine people in connection with the crime. perhaps the most shocking thing about the suspects is their age. >> reporter: this was an audacious $300 million jewel heist. it looks highly professional. cutting through metal shutters. penetrating a concrete bunker wall. it all sounds worthy of clooney and pitt. this caper was less "motions 11" and more like "the expendables."

the average age of the nine men arrested is 60. the oldest a remarkable 76. police say whoever did this came in through an elevator shaft, dropping to the basement where they used industrial drills to break through a 20-inch reinforced concrete wall. reaching 70 safety deposit boxes. to cut that will hole they needed one of these. this can eat straight thank you a concrete wall. you need to put it in position and feel its power. the police have uncovered a stash of jewels and gems. it was assumed an "ocean's 11" crew was responsible. instead, this could become the great grandpa raid. denver, the flash flooding of yesterday.

stranded couple caught in a rising flash flood. >> you could see things with this technology that cow can't see with the human eye from the ground. >> reporter: and now this summer you could see drones flying to the rescue of beachgoers caught in rip currents and water emergencies. float-carrying drones are now being deployed in water rescue exercises, able to travel five times faster than michael phelps they'll be able to reach swim nrs distress a fraction of the time. while laws are still catching up the faa tells and allowances for unmanned aircraft serving in rescue operations are in place. they may start oferring over more and more shores across the country. the next wave is being tested right now in connecticut. project rip tide hoping to use droens to drop life rings to swimmers. >> which, i think, will greatly increase survival rates for people. i definitely see droens being

they wanted more intensity out of riker. how were you able to tap into that and make that happen? >> you know obviously from week one, with riker, he had such a natural ability to dance. and he just understood the movement so well. the musicality. we adapted so well to the fun dances and energetic things pop to pull a deeper side of him at first was tough. because of the struggle of finding that inside of him, that's what was real on the dance floor. i think us trying to find that inside him shind on the dance floor. he did an amazing job with all of his dances. every single one of them were so different. dynamic. i'm so proud of his journey. it was up credible. the entire season. >> and sharna you pulled so much out of noah as well. we were all blown away be the final dance. so much emotion. some of your signature lifts. a montage of some of them here. >> yeah.
