is in moruningurnng. vice president joe biden's eldest son, beau died from brain cancer. >> good evening ,i'm beau biden and joe biden is my dad. reporter: he was the eldest son of vice president joe biden, and he was delaware's attorney general for eight years, leaving office this past january. born in wilmington in 1969, his childhood was marred by a tragic car accident. >> my mom went to buy a christmas tree. on the way home, we were in an automobile accident. my mom and sister were killed, my brother hunter and i were seriously injured. i was just short of four years old.

admitted in 2013 into a houston cancer hospital for brain cancer. >> it is been called an episode of disorientation and weakness. reporter: biden, 46, leaves a wife and two children. kellye: developing in montgomery county rockville high school confirmed a case of tuberculosis. some parents want to know why they did not find out sooner. sam sweeney went to the school to get answers. >> they would not tell me anything. sam: this parent said that last night's robo-call left her uneasy. >> i'm concerned about the health of my family. sam: we don't go if it was a student or staff member, but it's difficult to contract in a school environment. >> it is spread through the air. it is not spread by casual contact.

sam: experts say that you need prolonged contact in tight spaces. it's not clear when the infected person was diagnosed. health officials say they immediately engaged their action plan. >> we look at who has been in contact with the individual, for how long, and we will actually test those individuals or screening. sam: those students will be tested june 4 and retested in about 10 weeks. health officials say there is no additional exposure risk at the school. some students and parents are still uneasy. >> i'm going to take my daughter to her private physician because i'm not waiting. kellye: montgomery county generally has the highest number of tb cases every year in the state. experts say that is largely due

increase of crime in the first quarter of 2015 compared with the same time last year. aggravated assaults jumped 32% most of them involving knives. robberies also increased, and bicycle theft went up 20%. more problems for metro is the federal government is putting the brakes on rail car upgrades. jeff goldberg explains what is holding up the rollout of hundreds of new cars. if metro is looking for writer supportive of new trains come it does not have to look far. >> they need to be updated. >> some of the trains are really old, they smell. jeff: they have a plan to purchase 220 state-of-the-art 7000 series subway cars, but it's now on hold as the federal transit at a missed ration is not sold on the idea. the cars would add to a fleet of 520 on order and eight trains currently in service. >> the new ones are really nice. : jeffjeff: but be just cannot be

kellye: you have probably heard of the montgomery county parents advocating for free range parenting. john protective services drop the charges -- child protective services drop the charges of one of two incidents, and for the first time the family gave an interview together on "good morning america." kimberly: the family do not exactly sit down for the interview. the six-year-old and 10-year-old were moving the way their parents want. facing fears while exploring the world. >> yes there is a risk of being abducted, but at what cost?

contractor to dig a hole in fix a gas line. the contractor patch the hole in the road, but the neighbor say it was not a good job. as vehicles rolled over the past, the houses nearby, 20, 30 yards away would shake. this did not happen before the gas line work was done, so they called and wrote the contractor repeatedly, but they claim nobody fix the road. the contractor left this piece of equipment on his front yard destroying shrubs. so he called 7 on your side and we called washington gas. a few days later crews came out, cleaned up the area, and fix the road. now the shaking has stopped. >> i don't have the words to say how much i appreciate everything 7 on your side has done. every complaint was not resolved until i got in touch with you so thank you very much. kellye: washington gas said the company will also work to help mr. marino replaces damaged
