garden apartments when some of the open fire. >> just a lot of boom, boom, boom. brianne: the two men were sitting in their personal cars filling out paperwork when they were shot. kinnard died at the hospital from his injuries. the other man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. >> it's hard when you are young person trying to make it. trying to make it for your family. it's just so hard. brianne: the family says that his brother was killed in 2010. tonight, a family and humidity are a disbelief -- a family and the community are disbelief. jeannette:a a george's county police officer hit and injured in a traffic stop in oxon hill. the police say the officer was in the middle of a traffic stop when the driver sped off hitting the officer, causing him to slip on the hood.

anyone who could return cash after the rear doors of an armored brinks truck malfunctioned, calls lending it to open inside the tunnel, sending cash flying. the police say that in a drivers who picked up the cash had until this afternoon to turn it in with no questions asked. anybody caught holding the money will face charges. arlington county police officers are about to do something they have never done before. they are going to let residents be police officers for 15 minutes. 7 on your side investigator jennifer donelan is giving it a test run behind the belt. jennifer: i'm about to be a police officer for 15 minutes, and the cool thing is you can do the same thing this weekend. let's get started. wish me luck.

of the day if you have to get out, the heat advisory is up already. that runs from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., from the blue ridge east. this is an excessive heat warning for temperatures expected to be higher in red but philadelphia metro has lower criteria. our numbers, the heat index is expected to hit 105 to 109. with the humidity, the water that is locked up in the air that is what it feels like, the more water that is in the air, it's harder to get our bodies to cool down, the heat transfer for the win to transfer the heat and cool you down. when it's really humid, watching storms to the west fading fast. no chance of an overnight rain shower.

isolated storms around baltimore, that is about it. saturday, high temperatures mid to upper 90's. those are actual air temperatures. the heat indices pushing 105 and above. monday is still hot and humid may have more heat advisories. could have isolated widely scattered storms monday. sometimes we are going to the morning lows tomorrow, mid to upper 70's downtown in washington. find an area under 80 degrees with temperatures in the extreme heat, studies have shown that bodies need to cool by getting under 80 degrees for several hours. if you don't have air conditioning, watch that closely. really hot tomorrow, could be as hot as 98, and the heat index could be pressing 109. when we get that hot, we could
