the outpouring for the daughter of soup star whitney houston this morning. and good morning, america. such sad news about bobbi kristina. she was so young. still so many questions. you see here there with her mom, whitne she died three yores ago. still so many questions about what caused her death. we're going the begin with the flooding in parts of the east coast this morning. alerts across the east coast. nearly a foot of rain falling in the tampa area over the past three days. ginger a lot more on the way. >> you want to see what over a foot looks like? it looks like this. you had from 6 to 12 inches of rain. we still are under flood watch from ft. myers up to tampa as we go through the next couple of days. how much more rain could we get? two to four inches if you're there at the coast. all the way to orlando, you

quickly. >> reporter: in nevada county 1500 acres still burning this morning. >> hope nobody loses too much of their property. >> reporter: that fire only 15% contained. on the ground over 1100 firefighters battling it. >> personnel from as far away as santa cruz had driven to save my home. >> reporter: planes and choppers attacking the blaze from the air. in this time-lapse video, the fire looks almost like an erupting volcano. >> we saw the flames when they crested the ridge there, going 500 feet tall. >> reporter: in oakhurst 450 structures threatened. that fire has consumed 1100 acres so far with only 5% containment. since january, california has seen over 5,000 wildfires. nearly 75,000 acres have burned. i want to give you a sense of what's at stake here. all night long a strike team of six firefighters have been

waiting at that house, monitoring the fire making sure the house doesn't burn down. it's so dry, authorities tell me this is a man-made fire started possibly by the exhaust of a car or four-wheeler. lara? >> matt gutman we thank you. to the latest on the movie theater rampage in louisiana. the two women killed thursday night will be laid to rest today. we're learning more about the gunman this morning. his attack was premeditated. questions remain. ryan owens is in lay fayette with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: lara good morning to you. maybe the biggest mystery of all. why did a drifter from alabama, some 500 miles from here choose this theater? this morning, police say they cannot find any real connection between the killer and this community. the murders of these two young women in a louisiana move si theater was premeditated and meticulously planned. that's the startling conclusion this morning of state police

this morning, they're zeroing in on a small area as they try to find out what sparked this blaze. >> it was literally walls of fire in every direction. >> reporter: it was just after noon saturday when within minutes, a small fire turned the 14th floor of this luxury hotel into a towering inferno. plumes of smoke filling the skies. >> unbelievable. unbelievable. >> reporter: a few hundred guests on the deck scrambling down 14 store trois safety on the ground in minutes. >> when we were leaving, rushing toward the exit we could feel the heat from the flames on or back. i have never seen a fire move that fast. >> it is so bad. >> reporter: a frightening reminder of the 1980 blaze at the mgm grand that killed 85 people. >> fire swept through the lower floors of the mgm grand. >> reporter: later, an arson attack at the hilt.
