about it. metro is looking for a contractor as they are getting rid of these and replacing the 1000 series cars. to properly remove and dispose of the asbestos and retire the cars. so we found out of the information through the public documents to get a contractor to replace the 1000 series cars. they can safely remove asbestos in a safe way. that is the story. we have talked to the raiders and we will get the reaction later in the newscast. the folks are concern. reporting live jay korff abc7 news. kimberly: all right, jay. asbestos was commonly used when metro was built in the 1970's. according to the occupational health safety the fibers can get in your lung if you inhale it and could lead to lung disease.

the biggest risk is when it's installed or removed. leon: tonight the search ising on for a man who lakes to bare it all. he has been seen naked seven times in the last two and a half weeks around ashburn. that is where jeff goldberg is live tonight. he has the latest investigation now on whether this streaker watch we're on now, jeff? jeff: that is the case. the loudoun county sheriff's office telling us about another incident that took place a few months ago. thought to be the same guy. the recent incidents happening in this intersection in ashburn early sunday morning. each time it happens the man doesn't say or do anything to the people he encounters and the moment he is noticed he takes off. when you think quiet streets of ashburn -- >> that's a first. jeff: a serial streaker is probably not what comes to mind. >> that is an anomaly you wouldn't find. >> kind of odd. >> suburban area. jeff: we caught up with lauren

and carroll. >> if i was alone i would be frightened. jeff: where authorities say the streaker jumped in front of two women jogging 9:30 last wednesday night. >> it's bound to happen. jeff: it happened a few miles away. and a few miles from there. total of eight sightings in ashburn of a man thought to be in the 40's sometimes running sometimes walking. >> okay. this is interesting. jeff: always naked. >> i haven't had the opportunity to witness it. jeff: sarah is a jogger. >> i'm cautious when i'm running. jeff: living near where one of the incidents happened and she is not sure what she would do if she saw the man. >> i'd be scared or shocked. scream. >> but she doesn't want to find out. >> hopefully they will catch him before it happens again. jeff: no question about that. despite arriving on the scene

kevin lewis is live in the neighborhood to explain what has the police most surprised. kevin? kevin: kimberly, the cops telling us a big crowd watched at this 60-year-old landscaper was savagely attacked outside of his town home. that was a month ago. as of today, none of the witnesses have come forward. a savage killing in the town home community. 60-year-old bradley colmes attacked while taking out the trash. bobby williams saw colmes the love of his life hobble through the front door. his jaw shattered, his life dwindling. >> he was bleeding all over the place. >> if you know something say something. kevin: today for the first time 20 people mostly youths watched the deadly assault. so far all 20 have kept quiet. >> to be honest we are surprised with that many witnesses that no one has come

of gainesville tonight where anticipation has been building in advance of the quicken loans national golf tournament. that was until billy hurley iii, golfer with local ties took the podium and made a stunning announcement. jonathan elias at the live desk with the golfer's emotional plea that came out today. jonathan: this was surprise. billy hurley's father has been missing for nine days. the son made the announcement this afternoon when he sat down at the podium. he broke down as he told reporters how his mother filed a missing persons report for his father a retired police officer. he said the father left the family leesburg home on july 19 and has not been heard from since. >> dad, we love you. we want you to come home. we have no idea where he is. jonathan: at this point police do not suspect foul play. abc7 spoke with the elder

hurley several times over the years. this is video from a 2012 interview. billy says he hopes his father will see the story on tv this week and perhaps come home. billy said his father has no history of mental illness and he doesn't know why he disappeared. at this point, hurley said he had no plans to pull out of the tournament. a lot on his shoulders while playing the game. we wish him the best. that is the latest from the breaking newsdessk. jonathan elias, back to you. leon: thank you. leon: the proverbial air came out of the patriots' balloon because that is when roger goodell announced he will uphold brady's four-game suspension at the start of the season. the new england patriots quarterback was suspended after investigation in deflated balls. the nfl players association is saying that oil will challenge that suspension.

kimberly: more breaking news out of d.c. where several people are treated after a pepper spray incident on a metro bus. kellye lynn is live in 3000 block of georgia avenue with the latest. what happened? kellye: i am at georgia avenue. this is bus 79. the bus where this happened. male and a female got in a verbal confrontation. the female sprayed the male with pepper spray. both fled the scene. six people transported to the hospital including three children and three adults. right now the investigators are here talking to the individuals who were on the bus. at the time this happened. we have investigators from the d.c. metro police department as well as the d.c. fire and e.m.s. we will try to talk to people. we notice people with red and watery eyes that look shaken up. we will try to talk to them and get back to you later. reporting live from northwest

leon: get down to the abc7 newsroom. breaking news coming in. jonathan elias working it for us. what is the story? jonathan: months after a toddler died after choking on a grape, reforms ordered by d.c. mayor muriel bowser. it happened in march in northwest washington. claims that the initial call went to a firehouse that was one mile from the scene. but it took firefighters seven minutes to respond. 911 officials told abc7 at the time the engine was not logged in the system properly and they didn't know it was available for service. tonight reforms announced ath several agencies to approve

start off with a time lapse this time around. take a look at south of washington. in spotsylvania county in the town of spotsylvania. 76 degrees there. they had rain. started off with sunshine. the clouds rolled in. splash splash, there are the showers and right on the camera lens. most of the rain and most of the afternoon has been south of the metro area. the bigger story other than the rain is the heat and the humidity. example is arlington. 89. feels like 97 and 97 at great falls. feels like 98. that is the heat in kensington. the numbers are real. they are not bonus made up numbers to say it's humid out. no this is what it feels like. two hours ago the heat index was 104 degrees. so here is the rain i was talking about. area that is not moving far. if you see this on the radar and the movement is slow to nonexistent and just drifting in the intensities you can see in red there could be quick

kimberly: good pool days. doug: good call. leon: let me tell you what folks do north of here. this is north of here in milwaukee, wisconsin. the volunteers join the search for a lion type animal on the loose. local animals and good samaritans are out using the drone and hitting the pavement. the lion-like cat has been spotted several times in milwaukee area. the search teams focus on the north side of the city near the most recent sighting. >> personally i want to come out and see a nonlethal resolution. this is unique happening in milwaukee. >> i walked along the river and check under the bridges, too. that would be a place to cool on the cement. couldn't find anything. leon: what do you do if you find something? say "hi lion." what do you do? there have been a dozen sightings of the creature since last monday.

news. back to you. kimberly: no matter which city ends up in the running for the 2024 i didn't go games there is stiff competition. look at them. starting with the city of lights. paris. the olympic international committee considering a bid for paris which lost out on a bid to host 2012 game to london. the city was 2.2 million people hosted 1900 and the 1924 olympics as well as the 1998 world cup final. then the city of rome. population 2.6 million people. that city said if it wins it plans to use several of the venues from the 1960 olympics. rome's recent major athletic event was the world cup final in 1990. this is a more charming choice. hamburg, germany, population 1.7 million people. it's touting a carbon neutral bid and car-free downtown in

the games. hungary is pushing for buddha pest -- pushing for budapest. hosted the 2006 and the 2010 european aquatic championship and the 2010 world triathlon series. it says the organizing committee knows that hungerry is the most success -- hungary is the most successful country to host the game. there is a deadline of mid-september. the list is expected to grow. final decision on who gets the games won't happen until 2017. back to you. leon: as you know if the games did come here fedex field would be potential olympic venue. the stadium is already taking center stage. there is the international champions cup in two hours and we will look at how the

call 703-236-9220. to talk to us in person, in the abc7 health center. i will be heading down in a moment to take your calls and tips as well. it was a tip for the "7 on your side" team that led to insects at one office. today's as sam sweeney was back out at the falls church office building for the clean-up after you saw the story first on 7. sam: good afternoon. tuesday an here. and this parking lot at the i nova health system -- inova health system executive office building is empty because there is a bed bug invessation inside the -- infestation inside the building. yesterday an employee contacted the "7 on your side" investigators saying she had bed bugs crawling around the cubicle and management wasn't addressing the issue. "7 on your side" got involved. within one hour of contacting management the building has been evacuated. inova did issue a statement saying in part they were aware of the bed bugs found, the

situation appears to be contained to the second floor and the affected areas will be treated during the day on tuesday. employees should remain home and they won't be returning to work hopefully by wednesday. we did some digging to find out what you should do if you suspect bed bugs in your office. first make sure they are in fact bed bugs and not other insects. if they are, any clothes that may have been in the area near the bed bugs should be put in a clear sealed plastic bag. also check your shoes. as experts say leave your workshys outside your home -- work shoes outside your home because the bed bugs like to hide in the crevices on the dark shoes and feed on the human and the animal blood. if you address the bed bug problem fast and with professional treatment it's treatable in any office or home environment. i'm sam sweeney, abc7 news. maureen: thank you. that is it for "abc7 news at
