southwest, where matthew shlonsky was killed just outside of the shaw-howard metro station after two people traded gunfire from separate sides of the street. they say that shlonsky was not the target. others were also called on video. the police believe the proliferation of guns is part of the reason for the higher crime. chief lanier: we have recovered 102 illegal firearms, which is staggering. : chief lanier also said this is a troubling trend, that aps and dice games have been causing gunfire. she wants the public to call immediately if they see these games, and that if anybody who recognizes the persons of interest and contact authorities. jay korff, abc 7 news.
