>> our first breaking story comes from arlington, where police are serving a warrant and season evidence in the hunt for bonnie black pulse killer. the mother of two was killed in her home in april. jeff goldberg broke the story and he joins us from the scene. arlington police have been here for about six hours at the home of david black, the estranged husband of bonnie black, found murdered in her home a couple of blocks away. investigators have been here for

quite a while. david black has not been arrested but remains the only person of interest in the case. arlington police started carrying out the search warrant after receiving results from the state lab in richmond following the studying of id. taken from bonnie black's home. they say the evidence could connect david black to the murder but will not say which items specifically they are looking at. -- her youngldren children discovered her body in her home after the murder. they are staying with family members that david black has had access to the children we are told. david black has been cooperative with investigators. he was here for about two hours before heading out to work. i spoke with his attorney and he remains to sayk he is innocent.

i did speak to the commonwealth attorney in arlington asking why an arrest has not been made. she says it is an ongoing investigation and could not comment. we will stay with the story and .ave later updates you.ank count on abc seven to push for answers on the story. much more on this tonight on abc seven news. more breaking news in alexandria where a pedestrian has been killed in a hit and run. us on thereyes joins senior braddock road and commonwealth avenue. what do we know about the driver this hour? jeanette: i just talked to police and they tell me they are still actively looking for the person driving the vehicle that hit and killed this woman around 9:30 a.m. she was pronounced dead at the scene. take a live look. must braddock road is still closed off at comparable avenue.

at this point, a vehicle description has not been released to us. the victim's identity has also not been released. we know it is a female. neighbors tell us she was jogging, although we are working to confirm that with officials. fatal pedestrian accidents are --y rare hearing ago andrea here in alexandria. one thing we should know is the speed limit here is 25 miles per hour. the fact that it killed this woman says quite a bit and officials tell me that the driver was going well over the speed limit. we will let you know when we release a description on the vehicle. larry: thank you. let's get a look at the impact this is having on traffic. jamie sullivan has more. the investigation is still underway. off at braddock road and common the avenue in both directions.

66 heading into centreville, heads up. a crash just after nutley street. it is getting moved over to the shoulder, but you are still in the 20's until you get to the capital beltway. that is a look at traffic. larry: major developments from the nfl. quarterback tom brady will not miss any games over the deflategate scandal for now. a federal judge ruling this morning that commissioner roger goodell went too far in suspending brady for the first four games. the league can still appeal but for now, brady will be able to open up the season. it was a day that wreck the commute for thousands in the area. a metro train derailed first thing in the morning, causing chaos. now the metro board is responded to the report that said some new about the risk. brianne carter has more. brianne: that meeting has been going on for about two meetings and continues here at metro headquarters.

at times, the meeting getting heated. in the last hour, we heard from leadership in metro saying they took responsibility for the derailment that happened on august 6, but today, board members raising concerns about what exactly is happening within demanding more transparency for the public when it comes to what is happening behind the scenes. let's get to that report that they have been discussing. in that report, it said the incident, the derailment in august, was caused by human endocrine and failure. that increment failure, real fasteners. to high-tech track inspection the call run across had inspected the area as well as track walkers. we just learned that people had walked in that section of the track about eight times from the tgv went over it.

. meanwhile, a funeral service is underway for former maryland governor marvin mandel. that is going on right now. he died on sunday, he was 95 years old. now to a developing story from north carolina where an american marine has been killed, nine others hurt during a training exercise. a superstar says stallion helicopter made a hard landing last night. is of the marines injuries described as serious, the others are minor. the incident is under investigation. a baltimore proster arrested during freddie gray demonstrations yesterday is now out of jail. with interfering and resisting arrest.

apologized for going on twitter and accusing a female espn reporter of treating sexual favors for football scoops. --se tweets started surfing servicing yesterday afternoon and now the wife had down her account and apologized saying that her comments were inappropriate and that she has the utmost respect for the reporter and espn. it shows there is a fundamental problem where the focus is not on football but other issues. it translates to poor play on the field. >> controversy after controversy. when does it end? it is time for dan snyder to sell the team and move on. the redskins take on the jaguar at in their final preseason game tonight. if you have not noticed, they have been playing pretty well. 3-0 this season.

degrees in spots. it will be a little warmer and noticeably more human than yesterday. with that comes these heat index readings. 95 is what it feels like in washington. 93 degrees in frederick. getting close to 100 degree heat index at times. then the question of showers and storms. the way things are set up in the atmosphere, most of the storm activity should be west of the blue ridge mountains. that said, it will not take much for one of these cells to drift to the metro area. futurecast shows through the afternoon most of the storms are to the west, a couple coming eastward through the early evening hours. then tomorrow things start to change. notice the change of the wind direction bringing in a cold front. the wind will start coming out of the east, so the best chance of rain is for the to the west

for the blue ridge and appalachian. through the evening hours, isolated showers and storms are possible in portions of the metro area. tomorrow night, things finally start to calm down. over the weekend, still looking fine. it is going to be hot and humid today. highs around 94. tomorrow, 30% chance of showers and storms with a front coming through. keeping things dry over the holiday weekend. wind coming out of the east and northeast cooler. in the 80's saturday and sunday. could be a bit warmer on monday. back to 90 on tuesday and wednesday. the thirdhink this is extended holiday weekend where it will be nice. this show what makes in the district even more special?

they are impressive. a big announcement from six flags and university of maryland basketball. they are teaming up with the park to announce a new attraction set to open in 2016, a new water play tower called splash waterfalls. he helped to announce a partnership with the american cancer society. he and a few others got so for charity. former disney actor dean jones has died from parkinson's disease. you may not recognize his name but you will recognize his voice and legacy. he was a veteran who served in the navy in the korean war. he also founded the christian rescue committee. he was 84 years old. doug is back with a final look at the forecast.
