on other calls. call, theyafter the sent a different ambulance while in route to the hospital. the child was transported to the hospital, where the child died. call volume was heavy at the time and the full complement of ambulances was available. sources tell abc 7 news 39 ambulances are not enough to service a bitty city -- a busy city like washington. admits that an few months ago, there were 10 additional ambulances on the street. for unspecified reasons, those units are out of service. certainly do not have access to all the medical information. all of that information is going to be gathered. the bottom line is, we do not know if the events of this day contributed directly to this child's passing, but it is being

investigated. jonathan: thank you. police are investigating a rape that took place at gunpoint. officers say the victim was forced into a car and attacked at another location. the scariest detail is the abduction happened at 6:30 in the morning, just steps from a police station. chris tells us about the search for who did this. chris: the police report says it in black and white. this is a suspected hate crime. the man accused of rape was allegedly anti-lesbian. police say the suspect pulled up next to a woman at this bus stop. he brandished a gun and told her to get in. what i take public transportation all the time so it is very frightening that someone could be snatched from the bus stop. chris: she also cannot believe where it happened. >> it is a main thoroughfare and

the police station is right there. chris: district headquarters less than a block away. the fire vehicle repair shop is across the street. just a couple of blocks from nats park. the man allegedly drove the woman across the anacostia and sexually assaulted her in a parking area. there should have been a lot of people around. in this case, exercising. >> it is scary. it could have been someone -- i was out here running or working out. chris: released say they could not tell us if the suspect or victim knew each other. there were no details about why they suspect this was a hate crime due to the victim's sexual orientation. jonathan: the suspect was last seen driving a silver. ram pickup truck. it also had temporary tags.

if you have any information, the police would like to hear from you. another school bus mistake in prince george's county. a three-year-old girl with special needs was dropped off at a bus lot after the driver mr. stop and-- missed her that led to frantic moments for her family. this is two in one week. richard: that is right. was supposed to be dropped off at her house at 12:30. instead, the school district admits the bus driver got lost and nobody knew where she was for two hours. braceyear-old symphani is back home safe now. >> we were frantic for two hours. richard: what should have been a routine bus ride turned into an afterschool ordeal. >> very frightening.

-- a scanning machine so that travelers that a male tsa officer found attractive were sent to him. those officers were fired in the spring. it is not an isolated incident. there have been 10 cases over several months. last week, a tsa supervisor fondled a young woman and is facing charges. the agency administrator says there are some bad apples, what did not say if he would change the way officers are hired. a safety review ordered for several defense department last labs after anthrax was discovered outside its containment area in utah last week. there is no says evidence of exposure. earlier this year, they inadvertently shipped live anthrax to a lab in nine different states. the safety review will ensure abs aret are -- l following proper procedures. a county clerk is in jail tonight in kentucky. kim davis refuses to issue
