active search in the three suspects in the shooting death of a 17-year-old shooting from park view high school. you could see parents waiting for a bus to get back throughout the day. anxious day as you might imagine. the authorities say they have idea of what with the two of the suspects are likely located but not the third. the shooting happened at 8:26 this morning on the corner of east cornell and duke drive. they were waiting for the school bus. one of the suspects filed multiple shots to the victim who was later transported to the hospital at fairfax and died at some point in the day. they took off on foot and that's when the search began. the suspect and the victim did know one another. not a random crime. investigators are looking into whether the shooting was gang-related. seven schools were on lockdown all day, including park view high. no one was allowed in or out. they all did dismiss on time in the afternoon with the extra law enforcement present on each side. loudoun county sheriff is

stroller on an orange line train on wednesday. she was stopped by a passenger who stepped in and tackled mcknight and held her down until the police could show up. the next hearing is september 14? jonathan: new information about a marine killed at camp lejeune. staff sergeant lewis was killed when the helicopter he was in made a hard landing. joce sterman spoke with some of his friends. joce: staff sergeant lewis grew up here in warrenton. the family was not ready to talk about the loss but they are honoring him putting up a flag as the friends pay tribute in their own way. jonathan lewis seen in the facebook photo seen in a training accident wednesday night at camp lejeune. the helicopter he was in made a hard landing and the accident is under investigation. lewis a 31-year-old marine was stationed in yorktown, virginia, the only person killed. 11 other marines were hurt in the accident. lewis' family put up a flag at

rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. that is what is left of his motorcycle in the intersection. you can see they almost imploded after it was hit. reconstruction crews now are working to figure out what caused this crash. the year p long investigation of former mayor gray will drag on longer. hearings for three of five people who pleaded guilty to felonies in the case postponed from next week until november. they are charged in conspiring on shadow campaign, that means they were trying to help gray get elected in 2010 by using illegal campaign funds. gray denies any wrongdoing. kimberly: a child died at the hospital yesterday in washington. a fire truck started the transport because an ambulance was not immediately available. is there a shortage or just more calls than usual? our d.c. bureau chief sam ford is searching for answers tonight. what is the mayor saying about it? sam: well, the mayor has sent

her city administrator out to talk to reporters minutes ago about a lot of the questions we have. yes, there are a lot more calls. they were saying earlier this week normally they have 400 calls for service. it's up to 600 some days this week. so they have a lot more. but also they don't have enough ambulance units. fire engine yesterday, fire e.m.s . engine 30 arrived here on hillside road southeast for a baby in trouble yesterday, the nearest d.c. ambulance was seven miles away. prince george's county had no available units so the fire truck started to the hospital with the infant and eventually met by an ambulance. the 5-month-old baby boy died at the hospital. it pointed out a problem of the ambulance shortage. mayor bowser and her administration promised six months ago to increase the number of d.c. ambulances in peak hours by 25% right away. that has not happened. the city still has 39 ambulances. the mayor today was unsure

exactly how many she promised. >> i don't have the numbers in front of me. we did add ten ambulances to the power shift. bottom line we will need more ambulances to deal with the increased call volumes. sam: we will have more coming up on "abc7 news at 5:00". including numbers from prince george's county they have been leaned on heavily by d.c. as the city experienced ambulance shortage. they did not have a unit to provide to d.c. when it needed one for that 5-month-old boy. reporting live, sam ford, abc7 news. jonathan: police identified the victim in yesterday's deadly hit-and-run. debra bogart was jogging when she was struck. the driver didn't even stop.

jonathan: earlier this week, aqua-dots crews were tearing up the passenger platforms for the long overdue streetcar project. kimberly: now today we are learning there are several fixes that still have to be made before the doors can open to passengers. chris papst went out there. chris: if you were to drive here for the next few days you are sure to notice construction like this. related to the streetcar. when the streetcar comes up and opens its doors, the doors are scraping against the concrete. that has had to be replaced. this was just one of 18 recommendations that came out earlier this year from the american public transportation association. a group that looked at the project to see if it's feasible. they did not find any fatal flaws but found 18 recommendations. that report came out in march. now, we are in september.

kimberly: the stock market took a big hit after they looked a whether interest rates will go up. the dow is down 270 points to close at 16,102. jonathan: the good news the nation added 173,000 jobs in august. jobs report is out. that was the good news. the bad news is it fell short of expectations. the hourly waims went up in august about 2%. kimberly: now a "7 on your side" consumer alert. tens of thousands of apartments in maryland have not been registered when it comes to lead inspections. 87,000 letters were sent out to landlords and the state is trying to reduce the led poisoning cases in children. buildings between 1950 and
