conditions are especially dry. no word on what started the fire. in other part of the country, mandatory evacuation worded because of a huge wildfire in central california. the rough fire as it's called is approaching 100,000 acres and it's less than a third contained. most of the fire in the sierra national forest. it began more than a month ago with a lightning strike and currently the largest wildfire in california. the threat of severe thunderstorms continues in the plains and midwest today. tornadoes and flash flooding hit the region while a heat wave sizzles the eastern half of the country. there are extreme conditions along the west coast. rob marciano has the dee tal z >> reporter: powerful weekend storms scattering beachgoers in florida. the last unofficial day of summer, with beaches almost empty. only a brave few out roaming the sands this morning. time lapse video showing the light show off the palm beach coast, and above the nebraska plains. in carroll, iowa, rain falling at two inches per hour. this street turning into a
