you posted right here. maureen? maureen: it has happened again. child having breathing problems needing an ambulance. and d.c. firefighters forced to use their fire engine to rush the child to the hospital. sam ford is outside the headquarters. how is the child? sam: the 1-month-old infant is fine. but on monday evening he gave his mother a scare as well as members of a fire company who did not want to risk waiting for an ambulance to arrive. eng gin ten is known as one of the busiest fire companies in america. monday evening they were a medical transport for a month-old baby in the 5,000 block of hunt place northeast who was having trouble breathing. >> his eyes were wide open. white stuff out of his mouth. sam: afraid for the baby she called 911. they instructed her in c.p.r.

heat index values are soaring at 96 degrees at reagan national. the largest batch will come tomorrow in the evening and the afternoon. we have 80% of showers and storms. as we get through nighttime hours we have scattered showers through midnight. most rain farther west. it will be concentrated by the mid-to-the late morning. in the an and the evening the best chance of rain moves through the metro in time for rush hour. it will clear out overnight. we will be in good shape for the day on friday. as far as what is coming next after friday, comes the weekend. the weekend is not the best picture.
