on your side. park tonight, a takoma store robbed and ransacked by a group of women. the rampage was caught on tape. the police are trying to track them down. perhaps the most surprising detail of the story is why the police believe they did it. tom roussey has the exclusive details. tom? tom: leon, the intersection of university boulevard and new hampshire avenue is one of the busiest in the area, and this crime happened in the middle of the day with a lot of people at the 7-eleven. takoma park police want to catch the brazen women they say did this. three women unreal, attacking a 7-eleven employee. but then they also decide to trash the store before making their getaway. fridays ago and takoma park police want you to take a good look at this phase, this phase, and this face.

after the women make their way into the store, they tried to buy cigarettes with a food stamp card. of them theylerk cannot just sick rights with a government-issued card, they got upset. tom: the women take the cigarettes. an employee tries to block their path. then they attack them. >> other witnesses got involved, tried to break it up. tom: the mayhem is far from over. they begin trashing the place, repeatedly throwing things all over the store. remember, the police say the temper tantrum is based on the fact the clerk followed the law by not letting them buy cigarettes with taxpayer funded food stamps. the police say they need to face justice. >> we are hoping the summary are ing knows who they turns them in, because they did a number on the store and the

clerk. ok and stillk was works at the 7-eleven. takoma park police say they really want to catch these women. if you can help identify who they are, please give them a call. live in takoma park, montgomery county, tom roussey, abc 7 news. leon: thank you, tom. police in clarksburg trying to determine what led to a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian. they say the victim and suspected driver may have known each other. roz plater has the new revelations about what may have led to this incident. what are you hearing, roz? roz: we are still waiting for a lot more details. the policeman towers interviewing the driver of the car and several witnesses in this case, trying to figure out what happened, wyatt it happened, and whether it was an accident. spent hours going over this car, looking for evidence.

it was found on amber riley fivee in germantown, about miles away from a fatal hit-and-run crash in clarksburg. there is heavy damage to the roof. >> it's tragic. roz: this neighbor says that the residents are shaken. the police are offering few details, citing the pending investigation, but neighbor said the victim was walking his dog friday afternoon. heard a loud argument between the victim and the driver of a car near the intersection. >> the driver, they had an altercation. it happened after that. roz: the police say the victim was found dead in the roadway. the driver took off, but a tip led the police to the driver and the car. >> a short time later, montgomery county received a call from a resident who stayed at the driver and the striking vehicle were at that location. at: family members arrived

the scene, distraught. investigators from homicide and the major crash team are working the case. so far, the police have not said much about the victim and driver except this chilling detail. >> detectives are investigating the possibility the driver and victim may have known one another. in fact, the police say they are not releasing the name of the driver or the victim. roz plater, abc 7 news. the los angeles county department of public health is joining a multistate investigation into a salmonella out break. 20 people report cases of salmonella at the fig and olive restaurant in west hollywood this month. more than 60 became sick earlier this month and the d.c. area. separate have filed lawsuits. the exact lawsuit of the outbreak has not been traced.
