weighing a pound. the family, right here tonight. good evening. from philadelphia, we begin with pope francis' final night in america. if you look over my shoulders, you can see the extraordinary view. the open-air mass nearing an end, hundreds of thousands on hand. coming after an emotional weekend in philadelphia. a short time after he touched down, he stopped his driver to bless a disabled boy. the mother in tears. and visiting privately with victims of sexual abuse, vowing to hold the offenders accountable.

saying that god weeps. we have coverage beginning with terry moran. >> reporter: he made his way through the streets of philadelphia. the crowds thrilled but smaller than expected. this was the main event for francis. the families so close to his heart. [ speaking foreign language ] >> reporter: love is shown by little things, like a hug or a warm supper. before the mass, he met privately with sex abuse victims. earlier, he helicoptered just ten miles north, but into another world. inside philadelphia's prison, francis spoke to about 100 inmates. they listened to this visitor
