with have still photos from cumberland and you can see the creamy yellow green tint in the water. that is believed to be the result of the spill from the verso paper company in luke, maryland. they call it a synthetic latex. but those who are allergic to it don't need to worry. it's described as non-latex chemical. this is the drinking water fly for much of maryland including the d.c. area. this is expected to get near where we are and where frederick brings in the water in a few days. they are on alert. >> we will be taking samples between now and when the plume is expected as a precautionary

measure. the concentration is small. brad: right here the water looks perfect. it's absolutely clear. when we come back at 5:00, we will tell you what the wwsc is thinking about this. once it moves past here it will be down to that water intake as well. near tuscarora, brad bell, abc7 news. alison: thank you. now a developing story. a 2-year-old boy is dead after being attacked by his neighbor's dog. police in berkeley county, west virginia, tell the "herald mail" he wondered in the neighbor's yard and the body was found near the dog. they are not saying what kind of dog was involved. we will let you know when we get more information on the story. jonathan: new developments to tell you about. judge set the date for the first trial of the police officer in the freddie gray case. the officer's trial is scheduled for november 30.

the other five officers' trials start next year. i will range from tect-degree assault to second-degree debraved murder. gray died in april after suffering injuries in police custody. doors had to be locked out at seven schools in woodbridge this morning after a shooting in the 14300 block of wrangler lane. one person we know was injured. police say bel air, henderson, montclair, minnieville, dale city, neabsco schools were affected. >> mayor bouzer said the city ambulance crews are overworked. they need a break and more training and for that reason she is calling for private ambulances to handle a lot of the less urgent calls. that is coming up.

alison: meanwhile, arlington county police are look for a man who sexually assaulted walking down the street sunday night around 10:00 p.m. in 1200 of block of south hern don street. police say they do not believe the case to a string of assaults in the area. the descriptions of the suspects are not the change. jonathan: major change in service along the blue, red, orange line and center on the stadium armory station. that is where a substation fire could impact the commute for days or weeks but for months. brianne carter was there for the first rush hour test. brianne: major change for the metro station.

much. i would love for them to come one other alternatives. >> brian: it could take months to -- brianne: it could take months to prepare. and no timeline when the service adjustment could be in place. brianne carter, abc7 news. alison: lawmakers are on capitol hill and running out of time to deal with a shutdown threat. in fact, we are just about 29 hours away from the deadline for a budget deal. last night, the senate passed a continuing resolution to keep things running at least through december. but at least one senate republican says a partial government shutdown is a good idea. we are talking about senator rand paul. he says it would give the senate leverage over president obama. senator paul: this is a collection of the spend bills lumped together and there is no reform. we are borrowing $1 million a minute. it makes no sense to continue spending money at this rate. i would stop all the spending,

let it expire. alison: of course senator paul is also one of the republican presidential candidates and he has been one of the more vocal opponents of funding planned parenthood but a new poll finds he may be in the minority. "usa today" and suffolks university asked 1,000 likely voters if they think all funding should be cut off for planned parenthood? 65% said no. 29% responded yes. 6% still undecided. the funding question is the focus of a hearing on the hill today. our senior political reporter scott thuman is there with a closer look at what happened. scott? scott: i spoke with another presidential candidate on the right about this very issue. senator ted cruz spent time with us here as we discussed the planned parenthood issue. he says he is not willing to go as far as perhaps rand paul and issuing the idea of shutdown in lou of cutting funding he was against -- in lieu of cutting funding, he

was against this. they went after the ceo of planned parenthood very hard today. they continue to say that this is an organization that not only take issue with because money goes toward the process of abortion but also because they say it's an organization that doesn't need $350 million a year from the federal government. why should taxpayers help out in the matter. down the middle issue you have the republicans on one side and the democrats on the other and heated exchanges in the testimony. listen in. >> that is the reduction in breast exam and the red is increase in the abortion. that is what is going on in the organization. >> this is a slide that has never been shown to me before. i am happy to look at it. it does not reflect what is happening at planned parenthood. >> you will deny -- >> i'm going to deny this slide that no one has provided us before. >> emotion running high in the house committee hearing. nonetheless we talked earlier

basilica last wednesday so was a retired firefighter from new york. his name is christopher panela, a 39-year-old man. he is telling authorities how he got in without a ticket. here is what he said happened. he wanted to be face to face with the pope. he did everything to get close to him. he abouted as if he was showing a senior citizen to her seat. this is after he breached security at j.f.k. on saturday in an attempt to see the pope. in that situation he used a badge and got black suv up to the pope's motorcade. this is disturbing to those watching the pope's visit. >> this is troubling and it makes me uncomfortable.

alison: "7 on your side" with health matters and words of a procedure that could make a big difference in properly diagnosing breast cancer. it's often referred to as a colonoscopy for the breast. liz shows us how it's saving lives. reporter: her life as a young mother was full of fun with her family until a day a short time ago kim humphrey noticed something was wrong. mood was coming from one of the nipples on kim's breast. mammogram and m.r.i. showed nothing abnormal. >> do the followup procedure to figure out what was causing it. reporter: the followup procedure was performed by dr. wright. she is one of a few breast surgeons in the country who perform what is called

testoscopy. >> this allowed me to look in the nipple duct of the breast. micro endoscope is less than a millimeter wide. reporter: how it works is the scope is placed through the duct identified as causing a problem. >> what am i seeing here? >> that is the duct of a breast. reporter: dr. shapiro-wright can then see what is wrong without damming the nipple or the breast tissue and still take care of the problem underneath. >> i can visualize it on the tv screen. just that area that needs to be removed. reporter: not only does it allow for better outcome it makes a difference in recovery times and much more. >> you can find cancer even before they can see it. >> in kim's case, it doesn't get much better than this. >> they didn't find any

jonathan: police in virginia are making a change. our jeanette reyes reports the push is on for community policing. jeanette: attorney general started out the press conference today saying that minorities feel they are treated differently by law enforcement and evidence supports that. a major initiative announce today hopes to change that. less than a day affair fair county police -- fairfax county police defended using a taser they said it's impartial police state. it's geared to the current and the future police officers to include topics like bias awareness, deescalation and
