building sent out an e-mail about an issue to drill that was going to take place later today. we received an e-mail about a drill that was going to happen today. it was forwarded to another person inside the building. and that employee interpreted it as being real. reporter: that employee called police. police followed protocol and cleared each floor. nathan dickerson was out to lunch and came back to find police around his building. >> we were trying to find out what was going on. i guess the people were calling. everybody was trying to find out was anybody hurt or anything like that. now we are finding out it was basically just a drill. was aer: again, this notice that the drill was going to happen and nothing happened

man with dementia posts spend the next five years of her life by bars. rosetta warned was sentenced today. prosecutors say she met the 87-year-old man at an assisted living facility and convinced him they were an item, than gain access to his credit cards and bank accounts. she racked up $400,000 in purchases, including an $86,000 car. n's attorneyr defending her outside of court today. >> she is 66 years of age and she has a lot of problems. they will put her in jail. the state says she swindled an old man at a lot of money. >> it was a lot of money. jonathan: we are told honr was weekendwill spend the getting her life in order before she heads off to prison on monday. alison: we are watching changes in the forecast for the first time since spring. colder air is settling in.

stand in describing the scene he found and the fear he felt. jeff goldberg is outside the fairfax county courthouse. really nothing more difficult for that son than having to relive that awful scene? reporter: this was awful. it was the most tense and emotional moment of the trial to this point. chris dunning, it was now 35 years old, could not hold back tears in the 911 call was played inside the courtroom and neither could other people. 's testimony began with a question. do you remember the morning of december 5, 2003. he said yes, that was the day my mother was murdered. on that morning jim and chris dunning, the husband and son of nancy dunning, plan to meet her at a restaurant after she went to target. when she did not show and phone calls went unanswered, both men went looking for her. ehris arrived at their hom

and saw her mother's car in the garage. i knew then something was wrong, he said. he went inside and saw a shopping back from target in and saw nancy dunning lying on the floor. several times i said, oh my gosh that she was not responsive." prosecutors then play the gutwrenching 911 call placed by chris as others in the courtroom cried. god.eed help now. all my oh my god." at this point jim dunning had arrived and got on the phone. "my wife is been killed. she is dead in a pool of blood. my wife has been murdered." investigated in the murder but never charged. he died in 2012. the defense is made it clear they will raise the possibility that jim dunning is in some way responsible for nancy's death,

these are not for kids. these are for parents. i'm joined by the sheriff himself, mike chapman. these are special classes. unusual that they are for the parents. what are these for? sheriff chapman: we have runs class for three years throughout the county at all the high schools in all the parents. who want the parents to be exposed to whether children are exposed to on the internet. unless they go through this class they realize they did not realize how much their children were exposed to when it comes to potential violations or predators or access to drugs. leading the parents know what the kids are doing out there. that is why we teach them. alison: a lot of parents are not quite sure exactly what the kids are into. they are a little bit intimidated by the internet. three mainrents do? things to make sure their children are safe? sheriff chapman: make sure you are committed getting with your children.

there are a lot of things that you think you just, like reverse mentoring when you talk about all the things the kids are doing on the internet. the first things the pay attention to your children and make sure you are communicating with them. if you see anything suspicious or they bring up anything suspicious, make sure you address it with them. make sure you put the computer and area that is accessible and you can monitor what they are doing. and certainly report anything that comes up that might be suspicious or somebody trying to entice them to buy something or something they are not sure of. make sure they communicate that to the parents. that is really the key. communication and more communication. alison: and creating some trust. is there a common trap that parents fall into when it comes to kids online and also kids and drugs? sheriff chapman: when it comes to online, i think it don't realize how much the kids are exposed to. they are gaming online. their creepers out there in some

of the games they play. there may be things communicated back-and-forth of the kids are innocent enough with the parents don't know. the key is against the communicate and make sure you are monitoring what they are doing. and go about in a way that does not intimidate your kids or shut you down. sure you areake communicating so they feel comfortable about talking with you. you don't want to threaten them or take later electronics. maybe just communicating and seeing what they are doing and going from there. alison: think he's a much for being here. the classes are for parents in loudoun county. jonathan? jonathan: thank you. we told you at the top of the newscast about the local men about to receive the medal of honor next month at the white house. inmy caught up with him back 2012. here is the story. forrter: a standing ovation a soldier who put his love for country ahead of his own life. today, he was honored by his former call -- coworkers.

four years ago he was a sales employee. andeft in may of 20 2008 enlisted in the u.s. army. >> i felt it was my time to serve and it was the right decision to do it at the time. to towardse served of duty in afghanistan and was there this year when his appointment was cut short. in august's brigade was attacked by insurgents. he and his team fought hard to save dozens of lives, but sadly four soldiers were killed and he sustained a serious injury to his leg. he is now recovering at walter reed. >> he stepped into the breach, put himself in harms way. not only for his fellow soldiers but for the united states army in the country. there is no higher or finer calling than that. reporter: today they presented him with a special certificate, a crystal award, and even a rolex watch for the timeless efforts they say he spent serving his country. >> it was an honor. >> to him it is not anything

john gonzalez is in arlington with a bizarre details, including how this famous finally caught. reporter: we've all heard of squatters living illegally. this guy apparently was living inside the attic here at saint chance catholic church in arlington virginia for three years. no one noticed him. william barker has been arrested and charged with unlawful entry. he confessed he would wait for the right time when all was quiet and then use a ladder to climb up. maintenance workers this week found him. they say they heard noises above the kitchen. in the attic police found a large water cooler, food, a guitar, and clothing hanging from the rafters. he would actually attended some of the services here and then wait until everyone was gone. some of the parishioners we've been talking to say they hope you can find some real help. >> i hope there is a
