it is believed it may have been there since thursday. we will keep you posted. now first at 6:00, a man hild up at gunpoint says the call for help to 911 was turned away. the reason? the 911 operator said because he left the district while fleeing the attackers. that is a story you'll see only on 7. steve steve live with more on the -- stephen tschida live with more on the story. you spoke to the victim in the story. what is the latest? stephen: big changes. right now the d.c. police and the 911 call center are making changes to their protocol. this is because of a story you are about to see about an incident which took place on road island avenue 10:30 on saturday night. gun violence soars across the district. police say it will take the public's help to stop it. but a recent victim tried to alert d.c. police. but got sorry, not now instead. >> the police department doesn't want to hear about the

location of two people in a gun of ten minutes of when it happened is ridiculous. >> i think walking down the street here and about at the tree the two young guys fop stopped me and displayed guns. stephen: they robbed him. he kept his car keys. he rushed down to hyattsville and followed the d.c. website instructions from calls outside the city. >> i got a bureaucrat policy instead of someone that cared about stopping crime. stephen: a rep said the call-taker followed protocol but after listening to the recording the spokesperson informed us the call center director chris geldar and chief cathy lanier will put a new protocol in place tonight. if a 911 operator gets a call about a robbery or a crime:which is no longer in progress the call-taker will take the information and forward it to m.p.d. to follow up with the person who called. >> wow! that is incredible. i'm so glad. testament to responseive government and the police chief leadership. excited to hear that.

exactly how it should have been. stephen: the change to protocol for the police and for 911 operators is slated to take effect tonight hours after the 911 officials and the police officials listen to the call. reporting live, stephen tschida, abc7 news. leon: thank you. two suspects are dead after police involved shooting in two different part of the area within a matter of hours. first at a gas station in frederick called sheetz. the second near the border with maryland in northwest washington. in that case, a shoot-out erupted after they confronted two burglary suspects. one was killed and another in custody. 15 minutes before that shooting, maryland state police opened fire on robbery suspect on a crowded gas station. they campaign to the stolen survivor.

they crash in the state police. the troopers opened fire killing them. happening today, the police in baltimore are testing out the body cameras under a pilot program. 155 officers from three of the districts will be equipped with the devices. they have the body cameras in two years. freddie gray died in police custody in april. tragic mystery in st. george's county after two teenagers are found dead. the discovery was made this weekend. kevin lewis live with what they found from the medical examiner. what are you hearing? kevin: the medical examiner's office telling us that lyle farringer and india davis both died from stab wounds. they were high school sweethearts. india, they said committed suicide. however we don't know yet if

the boy in this case was the victim of suicide as well or murder. >> grappling with the loss of his son lyle. >> he was outdoorsman. we hunt and fished together. he wasn't just for fun. he was buddy. it's pretty devastating. kevin: lyle dated india for two years. last week the couple broke up. fast forward to friday. india missed her 10:00 p.m. curfew and lyle wasn't home by midnight. both sets of parents called police. next day a park ranger spotted the bright red minivan across the street from the park a few blocks from the home. inside a gruesome sight. both teens dead with wounds across their body. >> both were seen on friday at some point. >> police have a number of theories but are certain that no one else is involved. >> anything that happened
