the school bus eventually hit a tree and stopped. the cause of the fire is being investigated. this is the story everyone is talking about tonight -- the runaway blimp, in the skies over pennsylvania. the military aircraft broke free aberdeenthers at proving ground, then crashed, knocking out power to buildings nearby. tom roussey has the investigation into how this happened. tom: it is still being investigated. it was tethered to the ground, 6500 feed up in the air at the aberdeen proving ground. it broke loose and when all the way to a small town in pennsylvania. in new jersey, there were two fighter jets to or scrambled to watch it, but in the end it deflated on its own. , ithatever this thing is does not appear to be attached to anything. >> i cannot believe it when i seen it.

tom: the bullet a remarkable journey over farmland. check out this amazing picture as an amish horse and buggy passes by the $175 million blimp. it began the day looking like this, tether to the ground that aberdeen proving ground, northeast of baltimore. the tether broke and it traveled all the way to the small town of muncie, work went to the ground. it wound up in at least two pieces. blimpther from the knocked out power and left 27,000 customers in the dark. >> somebody sent me a facebook message that we lost our power that this is what was going on. tom: the military uses the blimp to spot planes or missiles headed to our area. is very sophisticated military technology, very

believed to be the city's 129th homicide victim. the first shooting happened that 3:15 in the afternoon. the police say that two juvenile boys were shot after getting off the bus. this happened on busy benning road in northeast. witnesses say they heard sevenre from five to shots fired and school-aged kids were running and diving for cover. both boys were kind just and breathing when they were taken to the hospital. suspect orion from a suspects. at 4 p.m., another kid shot, this time in southeast at rental place and alabama avenue. it happened near a bus stop. there are unconfirmed reports he may have been waiting for a bus. this young man was alert and breathing, too, no information yet on a suspect. then there was a double shooting the 4200 block of

edson place northeast, not far from the location of the first shooting. off-camera, witnesses say they heard rapid gunfire, possibly from a semi automatic weapon. the victims were both adults, a man and woman. the woman was critically injured. the police say she has since died. folks say they are so frustrated at this, especially that a shooter would be callous enough and careless enough to shoot at or near children. live in northeast, roz plater, abc 7 news. alison: new developments about the car that slammed into why home, killing two people. we showed you this last night. fairfax county police report the car was stolen. the crash happened on smith way drive at alexandria. the family was not home at the time. two people in the car were killed. .ne was identified the police a they found a gun and marijuana inside the stolen car. leon: alexandria police are

asking for help searching for a man who tried to rape a woman in inaundry room friday morning canterbury square. the woman escaped after hitting the man with an industrial vacuum. if you have information, the police want to hear from you. alison: senate majority leader mitch mcconnell promises a quick vote on a two-year budget deal passed by the house today. a minority of republicans, including likely house speaker paul ryan, joined every democrat in voting for the bill. the bill increases defense and domestic spending by $50 billion next year, $30 billion in 2017. it would raise the debt ceiling until after the presidential elections. that -- i might as well just say it, fun to watch. alison: d.c. police respond to a call, but surprisingly what happens next is a dance off.
