reporter: at a hearing today, prince george's county members heard from the police chief about a move to test body cameras here. >> the timeframe we are looking at hopefully is sometime in march starting a private program. reporter: initially 50 officers will get body cameras. there remain many unknowns. the department will use panasonic cameras which are compatible with the technology that the department current dash cam's use. >> we have people on staff that already understand the technology. reporter: they will explore overall costs and other questions such as the privacy matters in what eventually becomes of the video recording . that she says there is one test that is most important. >> really change behavior? not only hours, the police department got -- department, but community members? reporter: there is a lot of
