the agent defended his actions saying he felt threatened by the 15-year-old. the montgomery county jury found him guilty of second-degree assault. he will be sentenced in january. maureen: charles severance may spend the rest of his life in prison when he is sentenced for the murders of ruthanne lodato, ron kirby and nancy dunning. with the trial behind them now, the victims' families are reflects on the past and looking toward the futurement one of ruthanne lodato's daughters works with us here at abc7. she and her sister spoke with us today. >> it's something that you hope no one ever has to go to, but to have all gone through a similar experience with this really brought us closer together. a lot of people kept us going. maureen: charles severance will be sentenced in january. the jury recommended three life sentences plus 38 years. leon: one person is in custody tonight accused of trying to rob a worker at the outlet mall in washington county. police tell us that bryce

we fly today. leon: metro scrambling to find a new general manager. this week the top candidate dropped out. tonight we are learning new details about the search process. this comes as metro rolls out an effort to improve the rider experience as well. brianne carter live with the rest of the story. brianne: leon, here it is. this is the job description for the general manager of the job they still haven't been able to fill. how did we get here? take a look. november 2014. that is when we understand they first posted the job after charles said he was leaving. july 8, 2015, they resumed the search. now today we understand the top candidate saying he is not going to take the job and the search for a general manager continues. another attempt today to find a new general manager for metro. >> the selection committee identified a couple of finalists. brianne: it appears the board

erin: the nfl trade deadline came and went and the redskins are standing pat. that includes keeping robert griffin iii. they reportedly didn't receive any interest in the former franchise q.b. that may be because any team that would have acquired griffin would have also been on the hook for more than $16 million. that could be his salary next season. meantime royals with thousands of fans painted the town blue today in kansas city. in celebration of the team's first world series trophy in 30 years. the royals beat the new york mets four games to one. the wizards are off today but back at it tomorrow as they lost the san antonio spurs. they have lamarcus aldridge now adding to their squad. so it will be interesting to see how the spurs who are still kicking, how they are doing now. leon: interesting to see what the wizards. they are looking good now. erin: yes. maureen: this is more like surfing weather around here. doug: we are in great shape weather wise.
