>> i'm kendis gibson. we're going to get started with the new security alerts. a growing concerns force air travelers triggered by the russian passenger jet that went down in egypt. >> as early as today, officials here at home are expected to call for beefed up security measures at key airports around the world. the latest from abc's david kerley. >> sources tell abc news that is homeland security is expected to send that directive to airlines flying from foreign airports to the u.s. and that they increase security. that directive may also include increased security requirements for handling baggage inside the u.s. >> the obama administration is reviewing a number of different steps that we can take to enhance security for commercial flights bound for the united states from certain foreign airports. >> reporter: with airlines estimating more than 25 million americans will fly over the thanksgiving holiday, will they see changes at security after the egypt crash? security here is often very different than overseas. in the u.s., carry on bags are screened.
