flying home sunday, buthey willo social media gave a terrifying view as the attacks were happening. we watched first-hand accounts from people on the ground in paris as people from all ov the world wrote condolences and messages of peace. newsroom with how th unfolded on the web. chris: as soon as the news broke, we started monitoring social media, and early on that's how we got a lot of information about what was happening on the ground from the people who were witnessing it firsthand. of thoseour incidences, a couple from twitter, facebook, it and instagram, this is where the theater is where the reports are 100 peoe red, mantion style. this ivideo ghere of the people in this area, walking from the theater to a safe shelter. some of the people are wearing emergency kit blankets that are often used during situations like this to keep people warm

and calm them. this next picture is taken from a hotel, with somebody saying, "save in the hotel room with six other people, cannot believe the horror." people coming together to help others even from other countries. this was a tweet sent by a reporter citing a survivor, saying, "people threw themselves on the ground in the gunman just started firing at random at the people on the ground." just an awful situation. and this video right here, the bar across the street, being used as an emergency first aid station. it has been like this the past two hours, people getting the help they need after this tragedy. social media played a big role in this, getting the information out from the people saying it firsthand. chris papst, abc 7 news. hoppinge web was really

to change the laws and protect animals. chris: you believe the laws in virginia protect animals? >> i do. chris: what happened in this case? te animal laws in virginia. are strong and comprehensive, and unfortunately something went wrong at the local level. chris: the farm was a horse rescue with over a million dollars in donations. status, thenprofit farms were run in virginia and maryland, but over the summer she moved all the horses to virginia, one of which was ma ddie. industrys the horse board, which mandates that nonprofit horse rescues b licensed, registered, it inspected. >> we are the only state i know of in the country that does this. decades, nonprofit

rescues have not had any horses seized, while other states including west virginia and virginia have. >> i just cannot imagine the amount of suffering. chris: she she believes had maddie stayed in maryland where the farm was being inspected, she would be back home. this has happened before. last year and nonprofit horse rescue left maryland for virginia after failing to rescue, which costs $125 per year. the three-person team has a budget of $300,000, funded by the state possible horse industry. repeated attempts to reach out to the farmer have been unsuccessful. today she received a 75,000 other bail. chris papst, abc 7 news. leon: something tells me that story is not over. alison: let's see what is in store with the weather. steve: even though it will be
