there has to be a process in which they can feel confident and there is the highest level of intelligence having these people processed. either its lengthy interviews or biometrics. they have to be part of it or they don't do let people in. jonathan: the fbi director is coming on saying they really don't have an accurate way of getting anybody from that region. the records don't exist. the only people getting snared are known terrorists. reporter: you and i have discussed this before. it is very difficult. you cannot talk to someone who is syrian and say, tell me but your background and reach out to damascus and try to verify a lot of that. -- i ensure there are some factors involved. the white house is said to the refugee process we've been very careful. only 2% of the refugees from

the sheriff's office had to get involved and cut it off. jeff goldberg shows us the rising tension in one virginia community. reporter: this is the current location of the islamic center of fredericksburg. they have been in the building for about 15 years. in town for 27 years total. there is a plan on the table to between larger site about a mile has been serious backlash in the community which erected at a meeting on tuesday night. a community meeting on tuesday night led to strong and vocal anti-muslim belief expressed by several people and applauded by others. the islamic center is seeking a special use permit to build an 8000 square foot mosque at the corner of old plank road and andorra drive. it would replace the existing mosque about a mile away. some expressed concerns about too much traffic at the new site. other simple voiced anger over his long. -- islam.

jonathan: an eight-year-old boy is back with his mother after a bizarre journey to school. police and the mother left the car running with her son in the backseat while she went into work. when she came back outside the car and her son were gone. the two thieves drove away. is what they do next that is kind of surprising. was in the car and turned around and said we are here to take you to school. they asked him where he went to school in the took off. jonathan: kind of a nice thing for him. he said he was a little scared but otherwise unhurt. because the mother left her cell phone in the car they were able to track it quickly. they found the car about three miles away. the guys that drove it away were gone. alison: and embezzlement arrest

out there. laurel hospital is going great transformation. the private owners are reducing services and residents are frustrated. they have been fighting to keep it open as a full-service hospital. brad bell was there at this fight that is now taking place the state capital. reporter: ever since hospital operators announced it would be downgraded from a full full-service hospital to a walk-in outpatient medical center, heart patient paula adams has been worried. >> it's a tragedy. reporter: this nurse says she is right. >> if they showed in the hospital, they will have to go other places. not that they can't provide the care but it is so far away. an emergency situation would not be beneficial. reporter: senior citizens and health care providers along with several dozen other like-minded people made the trek to annapolis to save their hospital. >> it simply makes no sense. reporter: they are hoping to
