assault in northwest d.c.. a man with a knife demanded a woman get into his van. he drove her and sexually assaulted and robbed her. he is believed to be driving a white minivan. this noon, we are learning new details about a deadly crash that killed a loudoun valley high school student. the victim, only 15 years old, apparently died while trying to outrun police officers. sam sweeney has new information that we have learned about that teen. sam: good afternoon. loudounonal day at valley high school. students are still trying to come to grips with what happened over the weekend. they are wearing pink in honor of their classmate. >> he was just a fun-loving kid. he was all about other people. justthe heartache is starting to set in for students and staff.

15-year-old sophomore wilberto pitre, seen here in his facebook picture, was killed in a fiery car crash early sunday morning. >> he was a bright person, all around kind, it is just sad. set to see that he has passed away. sheriff's office says they noticed him driving without his headlights early sunday. he briefly stopped twice when they tried to pull them over, but he's better off each time. deputies lost sight of the teen's car and less than a minute after the initial crash, he died at the scene. his female passenger was flown to the hospital in serious condition, but with non-life-threatening injuries. don't make a temporary decision that is going to have a permanent impact. don't overreact. sam: it remains unclear why he was driving in the first place.

counselorsol, grief will remain on campus throughout the week. sam sweeney, abc 7 news. jummy: catherine hoggle once again deemed mentally unfit to stand trial in the disappearance of her two young children. jeannette reyes has the latest. hearing isthe status taking much longer than usual, getting pretty heated with the defense attorneys saying this is all a farce and the father of the two kids repeating he does not care about catherine hoggle 's mental condition, he just wants his kids back. it has been more than a year since the disappearance of sarah and jacob hoggle. their mother catherine hoggle had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and has shown no improvement. is easilyy she confused and does not understand the charges against her. her attorneys argued that she had been in jail long enough and that all charges should be dismissed, even saying she has been housed without meaning.
