32% of the republicans surveyed they are angry with the governor. 12% of democrats feel that way, too. leon: family and friends are mourning a loudoun county teenager who died in a car accident yesterday. 15-year-old petry was a student at loudoun valley high school. police say an officer spotted him driving with his headlights off and tried to pull him over. he sped up and then crashed into a parked car. he died at the scene. a female passenger who was with him was seriously injured. she is expected to recover. police say that he did not have a driver's license. leon: damascus man will be sentenced april after he pleaded guilty today for the death of his adopted son. 28-year-old brian o'callahan accused of beating the toddler to death. the child abuse resulted in death. he originally was charged with murder and he is now held on bondfor sentencing next april. maureen: one year since the district said goodbye to marion barry.

tonight a special event was held to remember and honor the long-time city leader. d.c. bureau chief sam ford is live at the event at the wilson building where barry spent so much time. sam? sam: we are in the foyer where family and friends, colleagues gathered to remember barry a year after his death. he served in public office longer than any d.c. official. elected four times as mayor and four times as councilmember. he formed a group called crime incorporated that found jobs for inner city youth much like the summer job program. many of those attending from the period of the long-standing public service. some of those attended received the first job with barry's pride incorporated. we are going to hear from one of them charles moreland, followed by barry's son

announcer: you're watching "abc7 news at 6:00". on your side. maureen: now to a story you first saw on abc7 news. princeilliam county has launched an audit after a "7 on your side" investigation exposed a wrinkle in a policy on illegal immigration. leon: that investigation found the county was one of five local areas considered as sanctuary cities. item investigator chris papst broke the story last week and he joins us now with more. chris: the chairman of prince william county told me he didn't know the county was considered a sanctuary city until after the story last thursday. after it aired, he and the board acted quickly and

changed county policy. is it no longer considered a sanctuary. now they want to know what happened. >> my first reaction to the story was that it wasn't true. chris: prince william county chairman corey stewart couldn't believe it when he saw the abc7 story last week on the sanctuary city. a sanctuary city is defined as a jurisdiction that does not cooperate with immigration custom enforcement. we found five in the d.c. metro area. including his. >> every single member of the board of the county supervisors is very concerned about this. if we find out that our policy has been deliberately undermined, heads will roll. chris: two days after our report the county board held the investigation and directed the police to begin to fully cooperate with the feds. board launched an audit to find out why i.c.e. was not being alerted. when police came in contact with illegal immigrants who had a civil or a deportation

the american farm bureau fred ration says cost of a 16-pound turkey is up 6% from last year. avian flu outbreak that killed millions of birds is to blame for that. they estimate for the first time the cost of a traditional thanksgiving dinner for ten people will be a little more than $50. got to find out where they shop. six new businesses about to open the doors at the washington convention center. a mix of retail stores and restaurants and they will be occupying the space that has been empty up until now. once they move in, all the convention center street-level retail space will be occupied. they are expected to bring in $7 million in revenue in the next ten years. maureen? maureen: "dancing with the stars" is down to the final four contestants. and it's anyone's title to be won. kidd o'shea is live in sunny los angeles where people are already lined up for tonight's big show. kidd: good evening to you. behind me "dancing with the stars," this is a closed rehearsal going on right now.

their homestand tonight hosting the edmonton oilers. this could be another high-scoring affair. the caps coming off a 7-3 thrashing of the avalanche. it is thanksgiving week and it's nice to see professional athletes out there in the community giving back. the nationals' first baseman ryan zimmerman was doing his part today as he helped prepare and deliver meals with food and friends for children and adults in the d.c. area who are dealing with hiv/aids, cancer and other live-challenging illnesses. but we also asked zimmerman about the new skipper dusty baker. >> ryan: he has done everything you can possibly do as a manager. so he just kind of sits back and lets you play. i think he manages personalities more. not that he doesn't manage the game. but i think his strongest suit is managing the clubhouse and managing personalities and making it seem like a family. i think it will be good. erin: managing personalities.
