3:04 am
say he was at that meeting and then left. police say some said he was angry. roughly 30 minutes before the shooting began. reporting live in san bernardino, brandi hitt, abc news, kendis and reena? >> before you go, do we know anything further about a motive? is this potentially isis inspire sthd can we go that far at this hour? >> that's pretty far to go according to officers. they're not ruling it out but still have a lot to investigate. was this an angry employee firing back at colleagues or more to it? we do know tashfeen malik and syed farook both fairly young were either in a relationship as far as a fiance or they were possibly married. officers don't know but know they were together. they were a couple. and officers also originally thought they were searchinging for three suspects. they said they believe now there were only two shooters and they

who were they communicating with, who are their associates? their phones, their computers, social media footprint is being vacuum cleaned. obviously there's a possibility of terrorism. there are a lot of different scenarios here. it could be terrorism, workplace, a combination of both. till they know, they won't be making any final determination. last week the fbi director and attorney general had a very rare joint appearance together in which they talked about the concern that people here who might thinkize with isis for whatever reason would do some sort of copycat attack. that is part of the environment that's being looked at. also, we've seen such a spate of mass shootings this year. i think we calculated that this year alone, 56 case afc mass shootings where three or more people have been killed. the most telling thing we know is what they were wearing and carrying. they were wearing tactical gear. they also had assault style rifles and handguns. the possibility of an explosive.
3:07 am
these were people who came to kill. and that is deeply concerning and even though this was a horrific day, law enforcement is breathing a sigh of relief in that they got two suspects because imagine if those people were still on loose with no suspects. in the mass shootings we've seen at least in the last couple years, we just haven't seen women involved. that's something that we'll be closely looking at and analyzes. at this point, they want to know who that woman is and who were her associates. what is her connection to the other male suspect who is also dead. so many questions. >> pierre, thank you so much. president obama was giving an interview when he was received word about the rampage in california. >> here's what he told cbs news. >> fbi is on the ground offering assistance to local officials as had he need it. it does appear that there are going to be some casualties and
