from abc 7 news, this is a breaking news alert. jummy: we are following breaking news from montgomery county. the police officer hit by a car during a traffic stop last week has died. he was taken off life support this morning. montgomery county bureau chief at thewis is live hospital with all the breaking details for us.

kevin: early this morning, his family made the unthinkably hard decision to take the 24-year-old off of life support. simply put, his condition had not improved over the last six days. around 10:00 this morning, montgomery 20 police confirmed to us that officer noah leotta had passed away. there are at least a dozen squad cars parked in the hospital's frontline. department brass and the honor guard providing his family and themselves with comfort. noah leotta, a sherwood high school in montgomery college graduate, joined a police department in january 2013. he was deeply interested in enforcing drug driving laws. he was on a traffic stop along rockville pike last thursday night when a 47-year-old only man struck him. police believe that man was drunk. not two hours ago, chief tom majors said in a statement he loved his job and a misrouted in

launched that terror attack in san bernardino. they are trying to unlock the secrets on the couple's phones and other devices, but as marcie gonzales explains, the suspect made it especially difficult to find. >> today, the fbi digging into whether farook and mialik plotted to carry out other attacks. the man accused of buying the assault rifles used in san bernardino said he and farouk plan an attack in 2012. investigators finding pictures on his phone of the san bernardino high school, a place he visited at least twice as a health inspector. authorities are still working to salvage other details after the couple not only try to destroy the digital devices, but encrypted much of the data as well. >> there is no doubt that the use of encryption is part of terrorist tradecraft now. >> the fbi believes they may have been radicalized by 2012.

rifles for emergencies. boston police are skeptical of saying their officers can responded to anywhere in the city within minutes. m.i.t. also equips their officers with semi automatic rifles. more defense, witnesses testifying in a trial of a baltimore police officer charged in the death of freddie gray. the divine officer william porter took the stand yesterday in his own defense. he said he did not realize freddie gray was injured until they stopped for the sixth and final time. when asked why he did not use a seatbelt, he said in 150 arrests, he never used a seatbelt. is the first of six officers will face trial. police are investigating a fiery overnight crash that killed one person on route 202.this happened at the intersection of landover road and bartholow road.

release of this dash cam video showing an officer shooting 17-year-old laquan mcdonald, who later died. home in another developing story, this involving metro, a gay couple says metro failed to help them when they were attacked by 12 teenagers. the men, who did not want to be identified, said the incident happened on a green line train in maryland. one of the victims says he was kicked and beaten when he tried to help a boy being attacked by those teens. they used the red button to try to report into the driver, but the train kept making stops and they were not sure if the police were called or not. >> i just feel like metro failed us. teens the man says the mopped the man's disability and sexual orientation. is still recovering from his injuries. a metro spokesperson says drivers ave discretion -- have
