leon: up first, a young police officer's life cut short. he was hit during a car -- hit by a car during a traffic stop last week. he died today. alison: tonight, new information about the driver who hit him and who is suspected of being drunk at the time. tom roussey has the investigation happening now. tom, what's the latest?

tom: we are outside of the fourth district police station on randolph road, a police car draped in black, people leaving flowers. moments ago a tow truck driver stopped by. noah leotta wrote just a few miles from here in olney, and that is also where the man who hit him lives. tonight, this man brought his eight-year-old son. >> we came to pay respects to the softserve. >> thank you for his good work. >> he always had a smile on his face and was eager to help however he could. tom: officer say that he had a passion for getting drunk drivers off the streets. >> he saw the importance of the work. it's one of those things that we do. we never know how many lives we are saving on we arrest somebody. tom: earlier, the police took

leotta's remains pass the fourth district station as officers stood nearby. the police chief hugged members of the enforcement family and gave an emotional speech. >> this young officer who was an example of every caught was killed by men who decided to smoke some dope, drink for four hours, and get behind the wheel of the car. tom: the police say the man was 47-year-old luis relusco. tonight, nobody answered at his olney townhome and all the lights were off. as of now coming is not been charged. the state's attorney's office is waiting on reports to come back before making a decision. although the charges go back a few decades, the police say he was arrested twice before oi-related charges. tom roussey, abc 7 news. leon: thank you, tom.

heartbreaking. a second arrest in connection with the shooting death of an american university student. the police say that 19-year-old andre dudley is charged with second-degree murder. matthew slonsky was shot to death outside of the shawl-howard metro station in august. he was not the intimidated target. alison: intimidated, nervous bullied, words being used by muslim-americans in the wake on the war on terror, it's in any threat evacuate at the council of islamic relations building. the police are urging anybody with concerns to come forward. roz plater has more. roz: alison, we heard tonight from women who say in the aftermath of the san bernardino mass shooting, they were afraid to go to their mosques and the grocery store because of the way they dress and they have been mostly silent until now.

at this packed meeting muslim-americans talk about being discriminated against and the anti-muslim rhetoric ratcheting up, happening even at the elementary school level. >> the children say you are hiding a bomb in the car or that you are a terrorist, things like this. we hear this all the time. >> my son came home and said muslims are bad people. i wonder if there are so many more incidents that have gone unreported. roz: that is why montgomery county human rights officials convened the meeting. they suspect there is a climate of fear. one person spoke about people being afraid to go to mosque two days after the san bernardino mass shooting because of how they dress. >> they are afraid. roz: the county has strong hate

authentic-looking passports. the worst part, isis may have printed the passports with their own machines. as according to her report obtained by abc news. the report says isis likely had the ability since they took over a syrian city last summer where they got boxes of blank passports and a printing machine to make their own passports. the fbi director says the intelligence community is concerned about the possibility. we will continue to watch the situation and let you know if there are changes or developments. leon: closer to home, a major break in the death of a young woman. heather ciccone was found shot to death in a spotsylvania car monday. investigators say that she got a phone call sunday night and went to meet somebody. no arrests have been made, but we are watching it closely and will bring information as we get it. alison: the air traffic controller who misguided an airplane with michelle obama on
