earlier, the jury deliberated a few hours before calling it a day. in closing statements, the prosecution reiterated its belief porter could have saved freddie gray's life if he had buckled him into the police van. defense attorney said the officer's actions were reasonable and said the state lacked evidence in gray's death. a diverse group of resident says city must remain unified. >> white people, black people, cops, we have it all. >> we love baltimore and we want peace, and we will do it together united. tom: the jury is due back in the morning on the second floor of the courthouse. they will continue deliberations. i'm told in that rally for peace, there were gang members along with the police and other
