comes through and behind the cold front we will see some big changes. by late tonight, temperatures will drop to the lower 50's as skies begin to clear. average high a 46 so we are above average where we will find that happened before that is this change to cold air by the weekend. jummy: prosecutors and attorneys are starting over in baltimore. a hung jury was able to reach a verdict in the trial of officer william porter. the judge t declared a mistrial. sam sweeney is in baltimore with what is next for that city. sam: it is expected to be a busy day here in baltimore. we are waiting to find out what came of the meeting between the defense, the prosecution, and the judge in this case. we know that there will likely be two outcomes. one of them will either be a brand-new trial or the prosecution will offer some sort of immunity or some sort of plea deal to officer porter in

exchange for his testimony in the subsequent trials. prosecutors line these trials of strategically. they believe that porter would have been the easiest to convict and they would've been able to use porter's testimony in the upcoming trials. that entire notion is up in the air. right now they need to decide if there's going to be another trial and if that is the case they have to decide on what's going to happen with the five other trials. will they move those back? experts say it will be difficult to convict those five other officers if they do not have porter to testify in those trials. is justilliam porter the first of six police officers who will face trial in the death of freddie gray. charges range from reckless endangerment to second-degree depraved heart murder. the next trial for the police driver is scheduled to

begin on january 6. -- two schoolsa listed as secure while police search for an armed robbery suspect. this happened at the noble woods plaza. that is not far from garfield high school and bel air elementary. as a precaution the schools closed all of their doors. police are searching for the suspect who is said to be wearing a black ski mask, red hoodie and black boots. developing now, police investigating a shooting in southeast d.c.. a man was shot at 36th street around 8:00 last night. he was conscious when he was taken to the hospital but about five hours later we learned that he died. police are looking for a light blue older model vehicle with tape over the driver side window. anyone with information is asked to contact police. the man accused of murdering four people at a mansion in northwest d.c. is in court today. nt is charged in the

temperatures on the way. it's not going to get brutally cold. it may feel brutally cold because we will have the coldest air in weeks and gusty wind so by saturday morning wind chills may be in the low 20's for a while. that wind and cold air. first we do with the rain at a cold front. moderate to heavy downpours. this will be the story for the rest of the day. toward the end of the rush-hour they should move out of the area. if it use clicking along by 5:00 it will get out of the metro area. the cold dry air is behind a front. futurecast will indicate timing that by 5:00 the heaviest rain should be east of town. a few additional showers. they should dry up across the mountains. not only do we have gusty wind and falling temperatures but we have possibilities as we get through friday night and saturday morning of snow. lake-effect snow advisories in effect for parts of new york state and northeastern corner of ohio. buffalo has had zero snow.

buffalo snow drought is about to end with a lake effect in some suburban areas. we will get colder but then we will get warmer again. futurecast temperatures. look what it will feel like by saturday morning. teens and 20's. by noon we will have wind chills above freezing. a definite change in the weather is headed this way. today, 100% chance of rain. ,or tomorrow, partly cloudy breezy and chilly 48. saturday, 44 for a high. next week, warm air heads back into the area. 50's and even 60's. our seven day takes us through wednesday. 62 with a 40% chance of rain. even warmer than that as we head through christmas eve and christmas day. monday is the official start of winter. jummy: winter starts monday. christmas a few days later and it will be really warm.
