assignment. parents outraged this afternoon accusing the teacher of trying to make students renounce their faith. a jogger fee teacher asked students -- geography teacher asked students to copy the islamic statement of faith which translates into "there is no god but a lot and mohammed is the messenger -- no god but alla h and mohammed is the messenger." some parents feel this was an attempt to indoctrinate their children. the superintendents that the assignment was meant to teach world geography in an interactive way. >> why couldn't we just write hello or goodbye? normal words. >> lash out and say my kid is missing school because somebody open their mouth -- that is not fair. some people don't really

understand what exactly was put into that worksheet that the kids were sent home with paid >> the decision to close the school was one made after consulting police. there is no specific threat. a significant number of parents complain. students will continue practicing calligraphy. samples used will have nothing to do with islam. jummy: in other news, the former federal police officer who pleaded guilty to manufacturing methamphetamine and a federal science lab in gaithersburg is in court today. he will be sentenced in montgomery county. there was an explosion on the campus of the national institute of standards and technology. he admitted his meth lab caused the explosion. turning to the war on terror, a 19-year-old pennsylvania man accused of preparing to launch

an attack in the united states is now behind bars. authorities say he pledged his allegiance to isis and used twitter to spread propaganda. authorities found a tactical backpack and his harrisburg home. he is accused of publishing id information for 100 u.s. service members and calling for violence against them. he is expected in court for a preliminary hearing on december 23. we are learning chilling new details this noon about the childhood friend of syed farook. enrique marquez purchased the rifles used in the mass shooting. he has been arrested on terror charges including conspiring to purchase materials for terrorists. >> he was brought to court in the back of this fbi vehicle appearing in handcuffs to face terror and other charges after

10 straight days of interrogation. marquez revealed that he and farook planned terror attacks together, dating back four years. earlier plot attacked students at this community college. >> it makes you feel unsafe. it is really unsettling. >> another plan targeting drivers on this california freeway during rush hour. farook persuaded marquez to convert to islam eight years ago and radicalized him using online videos from al qaeda. the terror attack killed 14 and wounded 22 others. marquez went on facebook "my life turned ridiculous -- might go to prison for fraud etc."

he warned of a terror sleeper cell. >> he said when it happens, it's going to be big. >> prosecutors say marquez called 911ing suicide. marquez said my neighbor did the san bernardino shooting. he used my gun in the shooting. >> he's being held in an alley detention center without bail until monday. -- in an l.a. detention center. jummy: president obama will be with relatives of the victims of the san bernardino terror attack. 14 people were killed and 22 others injured in that the summer second shooting. the meeting will be private. -- in that december 2 shooting. president obama heads to hawaii for his annual christmas vacation. but first, the president will make his new year's news conference in the district. he will take questions from reporters at the white house.

they finally flee and get rid of isis and all those dangers. jummy: at a time when so many people across the country are saying that we should hold off on having these people come over here. what is this couple's inspiration? >> they were very moved by the fact that these christians came from the oldest christian town in iraq, which has been overrun by isis. christians in iraq are an endangered species, nearly extinct, all being driven out of iraq by isis. it is easier in some respects to evacuate christian refugees because of their religion. they were easier to vet and people are less afraid of them than they are of the millions of muslim refugees still stuck in camps all over the earth searching for places to go. this group of 149 12 countries turned the americans down before
