abc's matt gutman with the latest. >> reporter: another legal reprieve for ethan couch and a mexican court staying his deportation to face a texas judge for alleged probation violations. the teej fugitive hiring lawyers here who have managed to keep them in this detention center for at least another three days. >> they could pay them as much money as they want to, to drag this thing out as long as they want to. >> reporter: but his mother not as lucky. tonya couch considered by police an accomplice in his escape bundled off to the u.s. >> the case we're filing against her for assisting him and hindering apprehension is a felony punishable by two to ten years. >> reporter: his american legal team invoking an affluenza argument for a drunk driving crash that killed four saying he was too spoiled to know right from wrong. it seemed to work. he got ten years probation. exclusive video shows the affluent family strolling into a

low end grocer. ton yap chatting with the butcher. there's ethan. his blonde hair and goatee died black talking with the butcher, paying with pace sos for chicken and casually flipping up his hand to wave good-bye. >> thank you. >> two hours later, mexican police swooped in. abc news has learned the pair had burner phones one of which may have burned them. authorities say an order to domino's pizza tipped them off to their location. we watched as ethan was moved to an undisclosed location. immigration authorize are telling us he will remain in mexico from three days up to a couple months. matt gutman, abc news, guadalajara. >> for the first time, bill cosby is facing criminal charges for alleged sexual misconduct. the median is charged with aggravated indecent assault 1 years ago. it allegedly happened in his suburban philadelphia home so he was in a pennsylvania courtroom yesterday. prior cases have been civil lawsuits or the charges didn't

stick. this time, a prosecutor feels he has a case. >> mr. cosby urged her to take pills that he provided to her. and to drink wine. the effect of which rendered her unable to move, respond to his advances, and he committed aggravated indecent assault upon her. >> the statute of limitations would have run out next month. a frail looking cosby was released after posting 10% of his million dollar bail. he's due back in court in two weeks. >> the woman in this particular case had previously sued cosby and settle the civil lawsuit out of court. more than 50 other women have said cosby sexually abused them and many are saying these criminal charges are long overdue. more now from busy an's linsey dav davis. >> reporter: a host of women who claim to have been assaulted by bill cosby, even decades ago, may suddenly feel vindicated. >> now, it's time for him to be sorry.

>> reporter: it was andrea constand's case that prompted 13 other women to come forward to her attorneys with their own allegations of sexual assault, offering to testify on her behalf. now prosecutors could turn to those accusers to strengthen their criminal case. since their cases were never prosecuted, pennsylvania law allows them to testify as witnesses in a sexual assault case. in a deposition for constand's case released over the summer, when cosby was asked if he used quaaludes to illicit consensual sex in the past, he said yes. and since then, the number of women accusing cosby of sexual assault, drugging or rape has risen to more than 50. the 78-year-old has long denied the allegations. >> i have been in this business 52 years, and i have never seen anything like this. >> reporter: erl this month, the man once recorded as america's favorite dad fought back filing a counter suit against seven of his accusers who had filed defamation suits against him.

>> we are taking steps in order to right a wrong. >> reporter: the statute of limitations for pressing criminal charges has expired for several of the accusers but several civil suits are in the works. this hotel was where he was deposed in the constand case. several alleged victims are hopeful the prosecutors will be able to use that case to put cosby behind bars. linsey davis, abc news, philadelphia. the friend of one of the shooters in the san bernardino massacre has been indicted on federal terror charges. those charges against enrique marquez include con sparing in previously planned attacks and making false statements when i he bought the guns used in the shootings. he's being held in federal custody without bond. >> authorities in turkey say they foiled a plot by i was in the capital city of ankara. police found suicide vests armed with bombs during a raid on a home there.

two suspects with in custody. new years fireworks have been canceled in belgium over fierce about terrorism. earlier in the week, police arrested two people suspected of planning attacks in brussels during the holiday. police found isis propaganda during their investigation of the two men. >> troubles in the sky as turbulence hits an air canada flight heading from shanghai to toronto. at least 21 passengers were injured. the flight was diverted to calgary so the injured could be treated. more than a dozen people were taken to hospitals but no one was seriously hurt. there were 332 passengers on the jet along with 19 crew members. now to the flooding in the midwest which has killed more than 20 people. mississippi and other rivers expected to crest today but there's widespread damage already. major highways are closed. many people have been told to evacuate. it's the worst flooding since 1993, but that was in the

the college football season started over labor day weekend, and it is now the morning of new year's eve and the season's final acts are about to play out. so here to talk about the big games coming up today and all jacked is jack sheehan. jack, what's going on, man. >> what is going on is year number two of the college football playoff. let's get into it. the nation's number one team, clemson, the clemson tigers. last time we saw clemson, they were beating up on the university of north carolina in the acc title game. clemson's got the participation's longest win streak. 16 games led by heisman finalist desean watson, the quarterback not to mention coach dabo sweeney. he's a colorful character. clemson never trailed in a game in the fourth quarter this year. they might need all four quarts because they're taking on oklahoma. the oklahoma sooners. last time out they absolutely
