>> abc 7 news at noon on your side. a man in boston in custody after police say he shot an officer in the like. police say the officer was undercover at the time of the shooting, two hours ago at 10:00 this morning. the officer is expected to make a full recovery. the details on the suspect's arrest are not available right now. we will pass along any new information as soon as we get it. meanwhile, a philadelphia police officer is undergoing surgery after being shot three times in the arm.

the police commissioner says a man ambushed that officer late last night as he was sitting in his police cruiser. police say the suspect fired a total of 13 shots that hit the officer as well as the officer's car. the officer returned fire, hitting the suspect at least three times. the two were taken to area hospital and right now there is word on the suspects condition. we know the officer is expected to recover. a former police officer who sparked an explosion, a county officer sentenced to five years in prison. jansky santiago is being sentence after a 2014 competition where he held a gun to a man's head. brad bell is outside of the courthouse and upper marlboro with details on this story. it was a very emotional hearing. a lot of tears from the police officers mother. touch him toher to five years in prison. the best way to tell you the

story is show you the video. this incident was caught on tape . outside of moviehouse in may -- house -- bouie. he was, and they were to the judge, board, wanting to show off for a couple of friends who were riding along. he decided to pick on william cunningham, a man doing nothing more than getting out of a car and going to his home. you can see the police officer holding the gun to mr. cunningham's face. he challenged him to a fight. , firsticer was convicted degree assault, use of a handgun and the commission of a felony. today, mr. cunningham said he was happy to see him sentenced to prison. washe first thing i thought -- i thought he may shoot me or my life may have been in jeopardy. the only thing i could think of was my family, my god, my lord and savior jesus christ and put

it and they talked to his girlfriend. they eventually come to, as a suspect, the girlfriend ex-boyfriend. another doctor. as they investigate this case, they believe that dixon has hired a hitman to kill the doctor to get back at his acts who dumped him. as the trial goes forward, dixon stands trial. the first trial ends in mistrial. the hitman ends up confessing but then recanting. a second trial happens. dixon is convicted. the key and all of this is the killer's own daughter breaks open the case in the second trial. you will hear what she has to say on the stand. that is incredible. we have an excuse it with her and her sisters but also, the woman at the center of all this, and unwitting person to test participant in a slump tranquil. she will talk about what she went through -- dissipate in the left trying go. she gives warnings to people out there who are dating that you don't know the person you are with all the time. jummy: sounds like an excellent
