if for some reason somebody did not win tonight, powerball officials tell us saturday's drawing would be $2 billion. live in arlington, jay korff, abc 7 news. alison: thank you for those numbers. there are some winners just from powerball revenue. virginia expects to rake in $20 million towards education. the district said its unaudited lottery numbers from the last 5 million toshow $5 the city, and in maryland abroad and 89 million dollars. that goes to public safety, veterans organizations, in the maryland education trust fund. now, more than 100 people cannot go home tonight after a big fire at an apartment complex in prince george's county. overchopper 7 was flying the scene when people were rescued from their balconies. fire officials tell us three firefighters were injured at the scene.

fire, only five people were two, two residents burned, firefighters burned, one with minor burns, and one suffered from smoke inhalation. live in a delphi, maryland, richard reeve, abc 7 news. alison: nine metro workers were arrested for theft, including seven station managers. roz plater has the details of the bust. the arrests took place between july and october last year. what may be most surprising is most of the workers arrested were metro station managers. metro says the complicated scheme was discovered last july. nine employees from various stations were caught stealing from the system using smartrip cards. >> wow. that's surprising. steve: in -- roz: in some cases, they target riders who do not have enough

back to the upper 40's by the afternoon. talking about rain moving in just in time for march of the upcoming weekend. more on that coming up. william countye day care worker found guilty of abusing and mistreating children. sarah jordan was convicted on a total of 13 charges today. she worked at the minnieland academy day care in woodbridge before being arrested. she will be sentenced in may and could face 50 years in prison. a second woman in the case goes on trial next month. leon: a year in prison for a man caught dragging officers with his car. he was charged with fleeing and eluding police. he was acquitted of the incident and 2013. one of the officers suffered a broken elbow, the other bruises. he was sentenced to a year in prison for running from the officers. alison: virginia governor terry mcauliffe laid out his plans for

in a deadly disease popping up and questions over whether that is tied to the water. jonathan elias has the latest. jonathan: this is a scary situation, it being described as an emergency. the national guard is going door to door dropping off bottled water. the city's tap water has been contaminated with lead. this started last year when flint started processing water from a river to save $19 million in the process. immediately there were complaints about bad tasting and foul smelling water. could this dirty tap be tied with a legionnaires disease outbreak? deathst 87 cases and 10 in 2015 are now under investigation. the city has switched back to using water from lake huron, but the pipe system is still damaged and it may be months before the water is clean again. jonathan elias, abc 7 news. leon: what a mess. uping up -- car sales are
