leon: jeff goldberg is live with the top story. jeff: the investigators are looking into the possibility it could be connected to the sex trafficking. the arlington police say the victim was an escort and non-english speaking woman. both factors they believe the suspects likely knew when planning and carrying out this attack. so, too, now is a feeling of fear in the neighborhood. >> i'm surprised. it is a safe neighborhood. >> she lived off columbia pike for 25 years. to hear a woman was raped at a nearby hotel is shocking. >> i'm just going to be careful and tell my female friends to be careful. >> on tuesday night after 7:00, while conducting a separate plain-clothed investigate they witnessed two men acting suspiciously outside the motel. arlington police say one of the men knocked on a room door repeatedly until a woman let

him inside. the other man soon followed. police say they then held the victim, a woman in her mid-40's at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her. >> the victim was afraid for her life. they did make threats against her. >> the attack did not last long. after leaving the room with a stolen ipad police closed in. arresting 39-year-old jose guevara-rodriquez and 38-year-old elmer lopez-velasquez both of alexandria. >> they were targeting a certain population. targeting vulnerable population. >> hearing news like this is shocking to me. >> he owns p. brennan pub where the new business is constant. he hopes and believes the horrific attack is an exception to the trend. >> i can only see good things. >> police say the female victim was not expecting any visitors to her room that night. so they don't know how the suspect knew she was there. but the police believe additional victims may be out there but they have not reported out of fear.

they are urging any other victims to please come forward. live in the newsroom, jeff goldberg, abc7 news. leon: thank you. maureen: developing now a woman is dead after a seven-car crash in largo that happened along 202 at lottsford road this morning. police say the driver of the pickup truck was speeding when he lost control. the truck flew into the air and hit another car. 53-year-old angela jefferson of springdale was killed. the truck driver juan sanchez is under arrest. police say he was driving without a license. and that his license had been suspended. leon: it will be tomorrow at the earliest before residents are allowed to get back in the presidential park condos in adelphi. they were damaged by fire yesterday. you saw here that the fire displaced a hundred residents. four units were heavily damaged by fire and water. residents of the other units have been told to stay away because of a possible gas leak there. today the red cross provided food to displaced residents

maureen: metro vains are not running on schedule. the rail's on-time performance is down in the last part of 20150. how can the system be improved to get people to the destinations on time? that is a question and the subject of a high-level meeting today. brianne carter is live with what metro is saying about this. brianne: maureen, it's trains being on time. this is a delay on a red line because of disabled train. others were listed on time. but it may not be what the riders are experiencing.

so now, metro will use this. the smart trip card. when you tap in to get more on the real customer experience. >> red line, a lot of delays. brianne: to track how many experience what she faces every day they are turning to the smart trip card. that is where the official will look at the amount of time it takes a rider to tap in the station and tap out at the final stop. to measure how the system is performing, it will be compared to how long the trip is supposed to take. >> this will give us a much better understanding what the customer is going through to focus on that part of it. brianne: previously they measured the on-time performance looking at the wait times with the trains known as the head wave.
