40-373-3322.call, 5 today we pause and remember martin luther king jr.. many are on a turning -- monitoring -- honoring the civil rights leader. the annual anacostia river cleanup, sam sweeney is an southeast d.c. where the project is just wrapping up. dozens of students from catholic university came out to southeast to clean up the area around the anacostia river. people, this these is just one group that braved the freezing cold temperatures, wind chills in the single digits. freezing outely here, but they are on a mission to clean up the anacostia park. this time last year on martin luther king day, they cleaned out more than 9000 pounds of garbage, and they want to beat

a major protest at the mlk memorial in southwest. in the spirit of nonviolent demonstration, reagan national workers are planning to march across the bridge to the martin luther king jr. memorial, as part of a protest calling for $15 an hour and union rights for airport workers. low-wage airport workers make around $6.75 per hour. the mlk junior peace walk and parade is happening, this is a live picture of the parade route on the corner of -- we will be airing the parade live starting at 12:30 on news channel 8, and sam ford is hosting. there are also some changes to metro today because of the holiday. trains are on a saturday schedule. that means they are running every 12 minutes from now until midnight. are all day, and
